Well I attempted to do a prefilter mod on the airbox and I'm not thrilled how it turned out. The filter is sticking out too far which would be the first thing to go if I rolled the pilot. The filter should be much closer to the radiator shroud and lower as well. Also, I don't know how the air box and/or lid are going to hold up from the vibration while riding. I want to re-do this again but don't know if I'm going to be able salvage the airbox lid! Any ideas?

Can you turn it like I did on the Mudbogger's LT Pilot ? viewtopic.php?f=34&t=9256&start=100 |

Maybe you can run a piece of hose up above the box like the oem set up and place your prefilter up high? Denuch actually ran his dual hose intake up high but no prefilters... I put prefilters up high on my 350...

What did you use to glue the elbow down with? Will a heat gun be able to melt the glue so you can re-position it? |

I would not tuck it behind the rad shroud. You would be inducing hot air into the intake. Remember to always dry fit ideas. I do like the look and see your concerns with vibration. |

Acetone MIGHT eat the glue, but not sure what it will do to the plastic. If you get it to come loose, next time use Goop, you can find it at home depot, it is much easier to use, stays soft, but holds nice and firm. It also takes several hours to dry, so you can take your time positioning the elbow. |

Here are a couple pics of how I positioned mine. You could always try and use the tab left over from the old snorkel as a mount point. I looked into that but mine is really solid the way it sits.

Well I'm going to leave mine alone then. I did take it for a ride on Sunday rejetting and as usual I was riding in rough rocky terrain. Air box and prefilter looked okay. I'm just afraid thing snapping off from the lid while I'm riding. Other than the filter sticking out too far, it was an easy way of setting up a prefilter! |

No flex at all. It has been rolled, jumped and come up short on one or two jumps and it is solid as a rock. Bob |
