It was quite a productive weekend for me. I got the brakes almost completely apart (still have some work to do on the rear caliper). So far it seems all I need are new brake cables. One front hub is a little rough, but I think it'll fit on my lathe, so I'll probably just take a skim cut on it and it should be fine. Of course, the screws holding the master cylinder cap were stripped and rusted, so I drilled them out. It looks like there's enough metal to drill and tap up to the next size screw. Got my new front shocks mounted and got the front suspension lubed and moving freely. I also managed to rescue my carb. The choke plug was rusted fast in the bore. After soaking in evaporust for a few days and bathing it in my ultrasonic cleaner for hours, it was still impossibly stuck. I ended up drilling an 1/8" hole in the plug and spinning it free with an easy-out. The only thing I failed at was removing the ignition switch... I understand that there's a little tab on there that releases it but I can't seem to locate it and all I managed to do was to cut my hand up on the bottom of the metal dash panel.

I'm also happy to find that my driven clutch may be usable. I soaked it overnight in evaporust to get the heavy stuff off and managed to get it moving a little. The faces are a little pitted, but I think I'll be able to polish them up OK. Right now it's in my electrolysis tank which will get rid of all the remaining rust and I'll be able to evaluate it a little better once it's completely clean.
