that's cool how long did it take to sand blast it all? cheaper then paying someone to do it for you.

forgot one. This is a trx 450 frame i bought and sectioned out for the front end long travel.
Using this all I have to do is get it level off the tabs and square and all the geometry is done for
me from the factory. any thought or opinions would be appericated.

try to mount it as tight to the odyssey frame as possible so the front track isnt too wide. when your done try to shoot for 60-61 inches wide outside of tire to outside of tire. The odyssey rear stock is 60 and 62 with aluminum rims with pilot rear offset.

I had written the forum but just got the. lol This is the one I want to do the long travel on
the front and put the buell blast Engine in. I don't want to hack up the frame. It is in good
condition I wish I could say that about the rest of the parts I got with this frame. So if the
blast Engine doesent work out I will go either try and get a sled Engine or build up another
fl350. That is why in the tec section I have been asking davem about his Engine conversion
I know he used a kawasaki ninja 500. The blast is a 500 and comparable to the same hp as
the fl350 but with a crapload more torque which will I think help me in the dunes. I just need to decide if i want to incorperate the tranny off Engine and cvt. Engine tranny with jackshaft.
or no tranny and make and adapter to put onto the crank of Engine and instal a cvt onto
that good grief. One step at a time Probably start on front first.

Then I still have to get that danged driven off the tranny
going to get a bigger jack and rebuild my cradle.

Thanks shoubadaba

And yes it was a pain in the but to blast it I only have a harbor frieght special.
It had a lever type valve for the nozzle I ditched that and bought a small deadman from
a different tool store. Once I got everything set up it went pretty well. I don't know what
primer they put on at the factory for the roll bars but that was the hardest to blast off.
Used about 50 dollers in sand. and Had to strine every freeking bit of it if it wasent for that
it would have made it go alot faster. Next I am going to build a blast cabinet so I can
catch and reuse all that sand or what ever media I use for the smaller parts.

Are you going to weld the quad pieces to the frame or just use them for reference? I like this idea. Not sure if it works but I had the same thing in mind. I've got a good trx frame I can borrow but I can't cut it up.

I am going to incorporate the trx pieces into the oddy frame that way I am working off the trx pieces
I know that they are right I just have to get them tight to the frame like shouba said and then get them square and level then all I have to do is bolt on the a arms and shock and go. I took a few
angled mesurements before i hacked up the trx frame. so it should work. I just do not want to screw
up the oddy frame I will tack every thing up then run it accross the board before final welding.
Sometimes someone elses eye is better than one especially if they
have done it before. From what I have seen on the post I am the first to try it this way.

What should it be from hub to hub.
Also from bottom of frame to center of bottom A arm should be 3" in is that right for the correct stance?
Thanks

Wow lots a sand, DLH put it best, "Got a drink in my hand, Got my toes in the sand, ha ha What a beautiful ODYSSEY"!...or at least it will be when your done. Would a paint remover work. I had some trim on that Trans Am that needed some paint removed. I used the heavy duty stuff from Home Depot, it worked but took a while to eat through...

No I wanted something to eat almost 30 years of paint and dried 2 stroke oil and fast well a couple good evenings anyhow.
Before the epa really got so strict, you could take a car frame or body and have it dipped and stripped not anymore though,
a lot of people are going the soda blast route. I am a poor boy though.

Correction...I have a Kawasaki KLX650 Engine (bored to 678cc). Big single cylinder, and like you say, big torque.
