Wow sorry about your brothers machine! Well you pretty much answered all of them in great detail. I think I might tackle such a job in the very near future. Oh how do you monitor your temps?

The temp is monitored by a gauge mounted on the roll bar next to the steering wheel.
Your looking right at it all the time. I run a bosch pump which is controlled by a temp sending unit which turns the pump on at 190'F approx. Unfortunately it is unreliable and we have a manual bypass switch to keep the pump running if we want. Most of the time we just run it in manual because of the unreliability of this setup. Good idea but not great. To regulate temp we block off the rad with something.

I've got an inline thermostat off of a dirt bike of some kind. Wonder if that would solve your unreliability. Leave pump running all the time but let thermostat control the temp?

I thought about that to but those kinds of parts are hard to find here and probably expensive so I was gona make my own thermostat housing. I gave up on the idea because it is easier to put a piece of something in front of the rad. Also the cylinder runs a lot hotter faster than the head so the thermostat has to be real close to the cylinder water. That's where I have the pump probe and it don't work.

Very nice im impressed! I have access to all kinds of steel n aluminum just no aluminum welding experience Lol. Might see what I can find in pricing! Now I'm off to find your other thread on the cylinder
