TIP: Be sure to maintain air flow to cool the Engine if it is still air cooled. Keep the air scoops and leave enough open area to allow air to flow in. If you have added water cooling, it is not quite as important.

I might just do it that way so you can easily replace any panel that gets damaged

You can try what I have done. I got some tarp material from an outfit that makes tarps
for the trucking industry. This stuff is very tough and it comes in different colors and thickness.
You can put eyelets in it or use tie wraps, I have done both.
Be sure to leave your air wings on or you will cook your Engine. (I know).

Chain coolers??
If you are commenting about those bilge fans I have blowing on the Engine I can
tell you they didn't work for me.

After seeing the lack of the large air scoops on your Ody I can see why you are overheating and blowing engines. No air flow over the Engine!

Actually I was running scoops until the last blow up.
The scoops and fans didn't help.
They are not on now because I pulled one Engine for rebuild (you can see it on the stand in
the picture) and was about to pull the other to see what it looked like inside.
I am in the process right now of cutting fins off a head and making a water cooled ( I have a thread
going here which I will update as I go).
Will be doing it to both before summer.

Here is my rendition...

White PVC sheet from either eBay or Amazon. I have a hood, two large cockpit panels, two small triangle pieces, and a visor. Small triangles are held on with zip-ties, but the other panels are held on with clamps/bolts that I think are simply pipe straps that have a rubber pad on them. They work perfect.

I got the side panels and hood from a fellow PO.com member (Nelly), but the other panels are the same exact material.

I'm kind of digging the hood. So is the material you used flexible or did you have to form it to get the curve?

I believe the guy who I bought the hood from (member named "Nelly") used a pipe, a little heat, and some time to form the thin PVC with two slight bends -- one at the headlights and one a couple inches before the bottom edge. That hood keeps a ton of crap out of the foot tub, no doubt.
