Post subject:  Who needs round wheels? My new pilot project

Having always wanted a pilot but finding the cost too much in the uk I have lived with fl250 odysseys but when this pilot came up in Ireland for 750 English pounds about 1220 dollars I thought it was my chance, £75 to ship across to England deliverd to my door was a bargain.
But it's had a hard hard life, the wheels are worse than wooden ones. I found a new set of Douglas bead locks on eBay for £130 but now I need to make them fit 156pcd front 115pcd rear if anyone has any ideas.
Shoubadaba has provided me with steering wheel and switches plus the missing seatbelt half.
So now I need nice plastics new arms secondary pulley and an Engine before having it all powder coated.

Not sure I have pm,d him and emailed yesterday so I'm waiting for a reply. As I'm thinking of putting trx arms on will yamaha hubs fit or raptor ones so I don't need pcd adapters? There are some houser ones available, thought they would be a good start even if I have to chop them about

I don't know of any front suspension parts that will interchange or just bolt on everything is a project other than stock replacements.

Well its on new wheels but there 2" . The more i strip the worse it gets. Rear caliper bolt must have been seized so someone used a breaker bar snapping the mounting on the transmission.
On the front because a wheel nut was spinning they bent the back plate i think to get grips on it wrecking the cylinder and chipping the drum.
I just used lots of heat on wheel studs and spindle plus remainder caliper bolt and there came off/out no problem.
Some people should not touch spanners and hammers.

Well the new hubs arrived today. I had no idea if they would fit but horay thet have gone straight on. The track rod hole needs drilling out slightly and the to arm has a choice its held in with a horozontal bolt or i can grind a bit of and use a normal nut. As i don't have any wheels the pcd is a bonus as now i can fit most quad wheels.
The project is going on the back burner for a while now but Rusty has been helping me so much suppling an Engine and drive clutch even fetching a transmision clutch from Nick. I forgot the hubs are from a can am.

Just saw this...

Here is my take, and as always, I could be wrong

The Can Am uses a different style upper ball joint

It's a cylindrical that needs a cross bolt - non tapered

The Pilot is a tapered ball joint that uses a castle nut underneath

Either the ball joint or the knuckle is going to get tweaked
