Could someone explain the different CV types and their application for me? I think I have it understood, but I'd rather be sure.

What aftermarket a arms if any, are a direct bolt on for the pilot with +2 +1?

Who is a good source for type 4 cv's. Also are they all the same or do they have heavy duty versions?

Is this for a pilot application?

It's not for a pilot. I have an old buggy that has type
4 cv's. I'm finding it difficult to locate replacements. Some say go to a
Type 2. Some web sites say it has less articulation than a type 4 others show
Off road ones where they claim up to 25 degrees. Don't know much about them
So right now I have more info than my brain can process. I would like to use 930
Cv's but I don't want to buy new axles.

How much angle do you need?

I think the type II CV's can be modified for a few more degrees angle Dave-Co or some of the VW guys can confirm this.

Why not just get some more type 4's?

You go talk to the guys at the Old Volks Home I think they just down the street from you?

Actually...I was asking about cv's For a pilot application. I want to run a 670 rot ax or so, and convert to 930 CV.

You'll need a flanged stub shaft with the pilot 25 spline male end

I don't know of one off hand but maybe someone here has a source

OK...a better question yet. What trailing arms would be the best matchup to start with ordered. I don't have all the equipment at hand to make my own. I can do some fab work, but I'm converting to a 930cv setup due to part options/availability with a 5:1 gearbox. My 670 ho has all the power I need....lol. Also to widen the rear end some and to have a better suspension. The problem I've seen, is their all a arm form, or too long, etc. I just need a set with the correct length, micro stub axle supported, and angled enough to widen it about 6-8". I'm waiting on my Honda 450r a arms to get here so I could get exact measurement, but I'd like the rear to be the same width. Any suggestions?

You can buy modified 930's with 28-deg of motion (they add 3-deg), but they ain't cheap. That's about the most you'll get out of a standard V-dub axle.

Given a "Z" axle length, doing the math...
Z = 14": Sin28 x 14" = ~6.5" of travel each direction (total of 13").
Z = 16": Sin28 x 16" = ~7.5" of travel each direction (total of 15").
Z = 18": Sin28 x 18" = ~8.5" of travel each direction (total of 17").
Z = 20": Sin28 x 20" = ~9.5" of travel each direction (total of 19").

I am sure if you take any of them apart you can figure out what the limit is and where to grind to provide more clearance and get more angle.

DMoney...got a lead on where to find those axles? I want to do it as a porsche 930 cv if possible. Also, I decided to convert the fl350 I already have with this mod for now. Not a pilot. Also, any leads on what trailing arms would be good for this mod? A link would be great.
