Looks good, do you think you need baffles to keep from sloshing around?

not really. the spun tanks don't have them, the stock tanks done have them, and its only 5 gallons. the sump will have a couple 1" holes draining into it, so they will act like a baffle to keep fuel in the sump when the fuel is low.

now would one hurt anything? No, and I may make one to go in it.

Looks good chris. May have to follow you and build myself a tank. Would be nice to have over 4 gal. Hell I'd really like 6 looks like there is room for a bit more if you made it straddle that bar. Although lots more work.

yea, and the way the pipe runs takes some room. I need to calculate the volume. the 1st tank I mocked up held 6.5 gallons. this one is 1" shorter. I may actually fab up another after the may ride. I have an idea that I want to try, but that will be revealed later.

I didnt mean to insisuate you don't know what you are doing :-) , just making a suggestion, and yes I would think 1 " holes would keep the gas from sloshing away from the pick up. Good idea!

the fuel tank is fabbed minus mounts and the taps. I made the sump larger then I had originally planned. why not go for the extra quart of fuel. :-)

Great job Chris, now go one further for safety sake.
Never liked the posi of fuel tank over exhaust, motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) etc, incase of leak.
I would be installing a drip tray under the tank, with drain away tubes that exit to the ground.
You never know when you spring a leak, all it's all behind you,and you'll only find out when it's too late mate!Image

I am trying to make this trip. it will be close for sure.

I still have to:
1. fab hoses
2. wire fan
3. mount CDI (Capacitor Discharge Ignition)
4. mount coil
5. wire it up
6. heat shield for seat

and I have about 4 days left in my schedule to work on it.

IS IT JUST A K&N OR DO YOU HAVE THE OTHER FILTER IN THERE?

IF YOU HAVE THE OTHER FILTER IN THERE I WOULD RUN THE K&N DRY WITH A PRECHARGER BAG OR PANTIE HOES OVER IT
