Well parts are starting to come in so I will start a build thread about it. I will keep an updated spread sheet with parts and prices as I go for those interested in it.

The victim is a nice running 89 pilot that I bought last month with works shocks, power bros pipe, power block clutch, and ATVR build Engine. it really runs great with no issues but I want more grunt out of it.

I ordered the Farr offroad kit for the Engine and mount. part of it came in today. the Engine is on the way. it will be .020 on a fresh bore.

Any issues with fitment over the Engine? Will you be mounting this inside the tubes?

the tank came in today. it looks like it should fit fine inside the down tubes. I have no plans to mount anything outside the cage.

id like a pic when mounted. I went with the 4 gal as it was slightly narrower. another gallon would come in quite handy

Keep an eye on those little tabs holding you fan shroud on, I can see those welds cracking from the vibes.

Ok, thanks. I got the radiator in yesterday. It looks great but I wish it was 2" shorter.

I got a few hours in today to work on the pilot. first I managed to get the exhaust mocked up and then started on the lower radiator mounts.

then did a quick mock up of all the parts. it will all fit but there is not much room between the radiator and the gas tank. maybe 2"-3" once I get it all hard mounted.

I will not be using this tank. $125 shipped to who ever wants it. It will work but is a little large for me.

ok. i have been reviewing the wiring and with some help from nitrosport i "think" that i have it figured out.

I am using a 4 wire skidoo regulator with red, green, yellow, and black wires. I have been looking at a wiring diagram from a 1996 skidoo formula SS with a battery and electric start as well as the the Pilot diagram.

I will be removing the pilot regulator and CDI (Capacitor Discharge Ignition). The rest of the pilot harness will be reused.

Ok so here is my wiring plan.

1. Rotax regulator red wire to 12v+ in run which would be the black wire at the pilot regulator or you could use the pilot black & white wire to the pilot CDI (Capacitor Discharge Ignition)
2. Rotax regulator Yellow wire to yellow wire on rotax stator
3. rotax regulator green wire to yellow wire on rotax stator

4. rotax CDI (Capacitor Discharge Ignition) black & white wire to ground to kill the Engine. To do this you could used a relay with 87/87a contacts.

The rotax CDI (Capacitor Discharge Ignition) must generate its own power through the cranking process.

I plan to use the pilot temperature switch to ground the relay to turn my fan on.
I plan to use the fuel level light as a oil level light off the oil tank.

So have i missed anything?

I built the upper radiator mount today. it should be solid and it mounts to the old snorkel mounts.

only problem with mounting the rad where you have it, is you might hit it with your helmet. i have a civic rad on my 360 and i mounted it on the back down tubes

I was going to say the same. It is a bit close and chances are your helmet will hit. I mounted mine back further and it won't hit.

Take the oil tank off and premix your gas.

i am thinking that a high back suspension seat will prevent this from happening.

Take Halo's advice. One night we were at comp hill at Dumont and we noticed Halo was almost out of oil in his injection tank. Could have ended real ugly!

Also, 1 more moving part to fail and cause a melt down, I had several machines with oil injection, I always took off the pumps and tank and premix everything. injection is noce if you are just filling the tank at the station but that was never the case with mine and all my toys are 2T

I don't think that I will be using the spun tank. $125 shipped to who ever wants it. I mocked up a tank today and will be building my own out of 14 gauge stainless. I will be getting the metal cut tomorrow and hopefully welded up by this weekend.

i ordered my filler neck, bungs, and npt fittings from this site. they have a lot of neat fab mounts.
