Go with the liquid cooled one in my opinion.
With the Engine close behind the seat it don't get much air the way I see it.
That's why I liquid cooled my fl350's.

I'd stay stock on a 250. Save your money for at least an fl350. You would be much happier

Put the aircooled in the 250
Save the liquid cooled ones for a fl350

I think you will find the Yamahaha too wide to fit the ROTAX should be a few inches narrower, you should lube up them engines really good if they are just in storage then try to seal all openings air tight.

Yup im running the exact same Engine in my FL350. Well the same bottom end. The older exciter 570s and the VMax 600s share the same bottom end. With the water/oil pump and pullstart removed it is a tight fit with a small frame mod, but it does work. If someone wanted to trim the stator casing slightly the frame wouldn't need modded with the pullstart and water pump removed.

Yes it slides out
Just pull the hubs and spacers off and it should slide out one way
Not too sure if its left or right as I have only done one once

Since you have so many snow toys maybe you can find a john deere 440 liquid cooled reed motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )). Nice and narrow. Has to sit a little high to clear the dual carbs.

Here is the mount I made

Just building this one now.
