Hi guys. Just bought my first 250. Don't know anything about them. First thing I did was tear it down, cut the frame, and this is where I'm at. Any advice? Also, I'm in Albuquerque New Mexico, are there any members near me? Thanks in advance for any future help. Shawn

Not really sure of what I am looking at there but it looks like you are going to build some kind of rear swing arm suspension. I have a pdf manual for the fl250 that I can send you by email if you like. This site limits us to the size of attachments we can post so I can't post the manual but I can send it to you. You can PM (private message) me you email so you don't have to post it here. I'm not a fl250 guy but I do have three fl350's. Will post below a picture of a swing arm set up on one I found online. Good luck with the build and post pics. We all like pics .

Welcome Shawn. There are a few of us members from the area but none that I know of with 250's. Nick |

That swingarm rear looks cool, but the Engine trans etc would, from my view point need to be mounted to it. That shock would need to be increased and quite a bit of welding done to the arm.. Otherwise the Engine would need to be side mounted by the driver and the output shaft of the Engine needs to be oriented with the pivot of the arm... Again, in my humble opinion.. What you are building is a far better setup. Regards |

Back in the day, Shoubadaba's dad did the same mod. Cut the frame and made it hinge just like you're doing. Adds a little cushion and seemed to work pretty well. |
