So went to pick up two FL250's one of which was the reason why I wanted to start back into odysseys. It was one my dad had when I was young and he built a side by side that set on the stock frame.

Anyways the place that had it was a motorcycle/atv junkyard. I got our old FL250 and another parts rig and also went digging for more odds and ends that I got thrown in for free in the deal. While digging I found some FL350 parts, bunch of air wings, front rim, snorkel box, skid plates, and a bunch of other FL250 stuff.

The main thing that got me excited was I found a front bumper for a FL350 which i needed. Got home and realized it doesn't have the main tube that goes horizontal, and then realized it is a bumper off of a FL350 prototype buggy as seen in all the original brochures. This bumper and some FL250 stuff was in a wood crate outside but was all new, but is dirty and some had a little rust around the welds since its been sitting outside all these years. Not sure why the bumper looks pinkish in the pictures, but once i wash it up its as red as the underside of my roof on the FL350.

Thought this was too cool not to share!!

That's quite a find, you can only wonder if they have the rest of the machine somewhere! Do you have any pictures of that side by side fl250? I'd love to see one.

That Bumper was sold on the very early oddys then there was a upgrade to the stronger type not long after
they were released, if you look a standard the lower part of the frame the lower bolt holes are still there on all the frames

So yes it is a the original early bumper but no cigar (LOL)

Here is a page out of the Honda shop Manual UPDATE /revised May, 1985
13 Frame parts/Exhaust Muffler pages 13-1 and 13-2

Yup, well even the newer bumpers have little tabs on the bottom of them that bolt to the lower holes. I'll get a picture up of the "side by side odyssey" it was more of a utility thing.

Here's what dad built almost 20 years ago, just sits on the stock FL250 frame, except he had a nicer seat on it someone put those buckets seats on.
