As far as blowing into it with just lung pressure the best you're going to do is a bout 1 psi, however your fuel pressure from the pump is going to be around 3 to 5 psi so you can't match the pressure of the pump with your lungs.

You could have a dirty fuel seat. Remove the carb, take the carb bowl off, remove the float and fuel valve then polish the valve seat and the valve plunger by using some polishing compound on the end of a Q-Tip shoved inside a drill.

Thanks, I had checked that. It is solid. still leaking so I'm guessing perhaps the needle is just not able to seal any more. Its running good now.

Ya know back in the day, mid 80s, I knew a girl who had a set of lungs that could easily blow 3 to 5 pounds per square inch. Aaaaaaaahhhhhh the good old days.

Well its almost done. just a few small details. I drove it around the yard but it never did get warmed up enough to have any power to speak of unless the carb is the issue. It fires right up. I still need the police to come do a vin check before i can complete the mounting of the rad.

Starting with the bottom section where the springs go. 1 springs, 2 plastic, 3 gasket, middle section, 4 gasket, 5 plastic, 6 gasket and top of pump. does 7 get used or does it go on each side of #2? i was thinking not only due to the need for the plastic to be flat to seal on the spring section.
