I'm still here!

I rebuilt the pump for your Ody already. Are you building another for your son?

Yes this is #2 build. It's almost done. I went to rebuild the pump and it only had 2 gaskets in it so i don't have one to copy. I used the kit and used all but 1 gasket. does it talk all 6 sections I believe it is.

Starting with the bottom section where the springs go. 1 springs, 2 plastic, 3 gasket, middle section, 4 gasket, 5 plastic, 6 gasket and top of pump. does 7 get used or does it go on each side of #2? i was thinking not only due to the need for the plastic to be flat to seal on the spring section.

Well, I got it fired up today. let it warm up. The starter does not seem to be in the best shape if the bat is not fully charged it does not keep engaged. I added a second battery and it helps but still does not hold very well. I tried to pull start but man the compression is strong and I'm not LOL. I will give it a test drive tomorrow.

Hello Mike,

As long as you are using the stock carb, intake and exhaust, your jetting will be a 142 main with the clip for the needle on the third groove.

If you have changed any of the aforementioned items let me know because that will change the jetting.

Rand

I will look. It is all stock except for the intake, that is the new kind. The compression is so high the starter kick off all the time. i can hardly pull start it. When i did it would rip the cord out of my hand. Hurt like hell. once started and warmed up it is easier

If you have opened up the intake to the double hose system, up the main jet by one size from where it is now.

I think your messin with me :-)
Just in case your not ---------- Take the fuel hose off the carb and put it in a measuring beaker. Crank the Engine over with the starter for ten seconds. Use a stop watch. You want 4.5oz in 10 sec. (approx.).
If your getting like 1 or 2 oz then repeat the test with the hose hooked up on the carb but remove the return line to tank and repeat the test. If you get the same amount as the first time your pump is shot. If you suddenly get the correct amount your check valve is poo.
VERIFY your pickup lines in the tank are clear first.

CAUTION fire !!! I am sure I don't have to warn you about being safe.
