This is the fuel cap assembly. I did it this way because the racing fuel cell setups are to big. This tank is only 5" wide.

Everything on it must be perfect according to them. I am more of a functional person. It don't have to win a prize, it just has to run. If you had a real close look at my machines you may not feel the same way, but they are functional and look reasonable. What is good enough for one person is not good enough for another guy. The way I see it is as long as it is safe and runs your good. |

Great job Udo,well done. Just thought I'd share some pics here that might help you out in the future? I had to end up removing that rear Bumper tank from the ex spcled1 ac550Pilot for safety racing reasons. So I made up another that fits over the trany area as my exhaust was shifted up vertically and to the RH side. Had to max it out for Enduros as well. Maybe can do the same on the Ody IF you ever need to and should yield around 20-21litres? I made it with a sump,Pilot fuel sensor,vent barbs with one way valve and top/bottom barbs for fuel level sight indicator. All works great.I chose Alu for it's light weight,no rust,no paint etc Got my mate's shop to weld it all up,turned out great.

You will notice that I had to take a hammer to the side of my freshly painted tank. I could not install because when I welded the outer skin on, it would not clear the camber adjustment bracket. Then repainted. Still have to 1) fuel lines 2) build fuel return check valve 3) shock savers 4) skirting 5) install front brake rebuild kit when it arrives and bleed front brakes

Well I pretty much finished this project. Finalized the fuel tank and fuel lines. Installed shock savers. Put side skirting on. Still need to order the wrist restraints. Also I am still waiting for the front master cylinder rebuild kit. When it arrives will install, bleed front brakes and put on the front skirt that keeps mud out of the cockpit. When this is done I will post the final two pics. One before and one after pic. It's good to go.

Well that's it for this thread. Done. Loose ends: Wrist restraints on order from http://blueskyppg.com/index.php?main_page=products_new This project would have been done a very long time ago if I had the stock fuel tank. I recommend that anyone should look for a stock unit instead of trying to build one. If you have to make one then I suggest you locate it at the very back of the machine like the Aussie did. Much much easier than trying to shoe horn one into the stock location.

Job well done sir! You make it look to easy.  Once all that snow melts I'll be looking forward to the first ride report. As you drive past the old crash site be sure to flip the bird!!! Will this buggy now be your #1 ride? I know you already have 2 of them for yourself and brother. It would be fun to have all 3 of them out together. |

No to the #1 ride -- -- I don't like the seat in this one Flip the bird as I ride by old crash site -- -- No to this one as they have now posted a full time guard on the bottom of that road. No one can get up there anymore. He parked a motorhome right across the road. This happened very soon after my accident. I am pretty sure they were worried about law suits. The way I see it is that we are all big boys. If you F up to bad for you. No cryin or suein. Man up. |

That looks really nice. I know it has to feel good to not have ur ride smashed up every time u look in its direction. Hope this helps put ur wreck a little farther in the rear view mirror. I'm smiling for ya. Way to go Edd |

I laugh like hell that I walked away and get to tell stories about it. That might sound strange to some. I kept all of the smashed rims and plan on possibly making tables out of them. More to talk about. I would only be upset if it was smashed beyond repair. |
