Here are a few tips:
This site is slow sometimes but you will always get an answer. Sometimes it takes a couple hours.
Lots of very smart people here. Trust me on that one.
1) When using the search box above the best way is to type ONE WORD only and hit enter. When the list of threads comes up there is another search box there that "says search these threads". Do the same thing and type ONE WORD only and hit enter. Do this as many times as you need to narrow it down. Common words are ignored like Engine, wheel, etc.
If you don't do it this way then you will get to many hits.
2) Sometimes its just faster to ask. No one will bad mouth you here for not using the search box first, unlike some other cool guy high school sites.
3) There are NO DUMB QUESTIONS here. All will be answered.
4) If you see a word or a sentence that is highlighted in blue, that means you can click on it and it will take you to a tech section or a list of threads you can search for info. The site admin set it up that way and it works good.
5) At the very bottom of every thread is a list of similar threads (just like this one). You can click on them for info.

How do you add pictures you ask ??
Well when you want to post a reply there is a section just below where it says "Filename" and a "Browse" button. Hit the browse button and find the file in your computer. Then hit "attach file". A progress bar will come up and when it disappears then the file is loaded.

Welcome to the forum, CO is right it’s an awesome site. Tons of information to guide you, a lot of very knowledgeable people, and more importantly those people are super helpful and always willing to help. I see your post is about Farr Offroads suspension, did you buy and install already? I love his stuff I have his front suspension, disc brake conversion kit on both my machines. His stuff in my opinion is great! Well good luck, and good to have you!

Welcome, and nice FL350!

Looks like you figured out how to post pictures. Pictures are highly recommended. Have you gotten started on this project yet or just getting things kicked off?

So far I’ve noticed how helpful this website is and how helpful I can be at times as well. Well a little about myself and my project......my name is Randy. This odyssey means a lot to me. My first real purchase of anything when I was 12 and now I’m 27. I have done numerous projects on this buggy. For the past 8 years I’ve been dealing with severe epilepsy and haven’t been able to have much time enjoying the buggy as well as life. I’m recovering from a serious brain surgery and while recovering with extra time on my hands ran across emmanuel’s kits from farr offroad. His kits are amazing and purchased everyone he has to offer for my fl350 unfortunately haha. I’m in the process of putting the bike back together after I am done powder coating everything. It takes time for me since an ambulance comes and picks me up time to time like the other day. If anyone has done any Farr front/rear or 670 rotax conversions and wouldn’t mind me asking a few questions I would really appreciate it a lot. Never know I may know a thing or two as well...kinda the reason for this very generous website

Ohhhh that looks familiar!!! Glad you joined us! :-)

If the pictures come in sideways, you can rotate them on your PC first, save them, and then upload them to the site.

looking good. how much did the suspension raise the over all height? I would like to go with a farr long travel but I am restricted to how tall my pilot can be.

Thx for posting pics. We all like pics here and it is many times very useful when you are asking a question as we are able to see what you see.
You have a lot of work ahead of you there. I have rebuilt several from the frame up, but I have never done a Farr front end or rotax.
I see in the pic of the Farr front end (very nice by the way), many toys in the background. Is that a Honda 250R or Honda 350X I see in the back :-) . When I was in my mid 20's I owned a Kawasaki KX250 Tecate. Man that was a fast machine. In fact I think I see a Honda big red and a 125cc CR.

Anyways welcome to the site.

What you see is exactly what is there. 350x 300. Tons of toys. Emmanuel’s kits are awesome and he takes much pride in his work. I’m not sure exactly on what the height ended up being. I know it brings the factory nose dive front end up in the air few inches

You appear to be very mechanically inclined.
I see you still have the stock rear shocks and springs. May I suggest you lose those springs.
The FL350 has non existent rear suspension. The spring rate from the factory was WAY to high. My brothers machine came with stock rear shocks but had an aftermarket spring on it. I estimate the spring rate at 155 lbs. This seems to be about right for us but we are small guys at 130 lbs. Bigger guys may need a few pounds more spring rate. The stock rear shocks seem to be ok and I have rebuilt them with some limited success. Occasionally one will leak as the replacement seals don't seem to last under heavy abuse.
Also you will need to make shock savers. If you blow a u-joint the rear suspension swings out and bends your shock. There are threads on that here and how to make them. Below is a pic of what it looks like.
Keep us posted on this project.

Main reason I went with his rear suspension is because factory shocks suck and works went out of business and I couldn’t get replacements

Just had time to read more of the thread-great story about you and your odyssey, glad to have you! I have seen the Farr Offroad rear suspension, but looks like a build for only someone with some real mechanical skills, which it sounds like you have. I’ll definitely be keeping up with your build.

Anyone who has done a rotax conversion have any ideas on CDI (Capacitor Discharge Ignition) mounting location?

A few pictures to show what I’ve been doing the past couple weekends. Figured I’d show some pictures to try and spice up this website again. I’m hearing crickets literally. Anyone considering farrs rear suspension there’s a lot involved but if you put your mind to it and it’s not too bad. Any questions let me know. My bike is being powder coated right now so my hands are tied up trying to get everything lined up and figured out for the rotax for CDI (Capacitor Discharge Ignition) mounting/throttle cable mounting locations. If anyone has done it or seen anything please let me know
