Looks like you got installed nice in there. Have you ever noticed a 2-stroke exhaust looks much different than a 4-stroke exhaust? Your going to need to fix that exhaust with a real 2-stroke tune pipe. I wouldn’t drive it like that. Post some photos of the Engine mount. |

Welcome, how does it run with that exhaust? I ask because a 2 stroke a Engine needs an expansion chamber to “supercharge” the cylinder when running. I’m guess by the look of your pipe that your Engine is now a high rpm runner, ie likes to stay high up in the rpm range. Tips. Don’t rev or idle the Engine in neutral for long periods of time, it’ll toast your gearbox input bearing. Make sure your exhaust has the support it needs, if only attached to cylinder for mounting, id add another one or two mounts. Put a clutch/belt guard on it, if anything let’s go, the damage to you/others or machine can be significant. How did you mount Engine, it looks like a clean install. Again welcome and post more pics. I have looked a 2 stroke pipes but I spent a lot of time researching and found that a 2 stroke will run without an expansion chamber if jetted properly, it just won’t have the power band. Given this Engine makes about 60hp with a pipe and a stock 350 Engine makes around 25, I was okay with the power loss from not running a tuned pipe. I don’t want to destroy the gearbox or axles with too much horsepower. If it doesn’t perform as well as I like, I’ll buy a pipe and mount it in there. |

When mounting the motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) I used some flat steel and some air conditioning mounts in order to reduce vibrations. Right now they have too much flex so I’m going to reinforce it with some stiffer mounts but when it’s running you can’t feel a thing in the seat.

People run well over 120HP on these gearboxes (Rotax 670, 800 H.O. etc), just don't land on the throttle when you jump and it can handle it. |

I’ll get a video posted tomorrow. Right now it pulls hard until 25mph then it stops. Once the throttle is past half way the left cynlinder begins to bog while the right cylinder continues to go. I’m going to play with some jetting but I’m thinking it might have something to do with the pipes. |

I spent a lot of time making the pipes I have on my buggies. They aren’t perfect and far from pretty but my bugs pull like freight trains now. If you’re handy with a welder you can do it just take your time and make take a sled pipe and Y manifold fit. I’ll try to find some pictures, making the Y was very easy, basically I cut it from the top nearly but not through. Next bent it down to where it needed to point/go and added patches. |

Looking at a Polaris Indy 400 pipe, it looks like it has a diverging cone that doesn’t taper and just ends with a cylinder. After hooking up the rear brakes and some other tlc, I’ll probably buy the proper sled pipe |

With that Engine... try a pilot pipe, make your own y manifold and mate it to the pilot pipe. I bet she’ll purr. |

Update: those pipes were very limiting. I had some old banshee Toomeys lying around and I put those on real quick just for fun. Had a little more pep. Then it started to run out of gas, leaning the mixture and holy cow it just took off like a rocket. Screamed just like a shee. So now I’m going to try and make those permanent. Here’s a picture of the setup.

Great looking build......just a word of caution, they usually run the best when they are leaning out due to running out of gas, air leak, or some other "not good" issue. Try the pipes with a full tank of premix and see how they run. Welcome to the site, am looking forward to more of your build pics. |

Once I figure out the best way to add the pipes I’m going to check for air leaks and play with jetting. It has 230 mains in there but the motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) shipped from Indiana and I’m in Arizona. I’m sure it’s jetted for the snow up there and that’s why it’s running rich. I picked up some 200 mains that I’ll try once the pipes are mounted beter |

Update: I put 200 main jets in there and mounted the pipes more sturdy. Only one cylinder would fire and it felt like my 250 odyssey when it was stock. I found out that the way my carburetor is mounted is restricting air flow, so I moved it to get more air. My gosh. As soon as I hit that throttle the tires were smoking and it was screaming like a shee. All the way through the cvt range. Now to silence it

Hate to be the bad guy here but I have NO confidence in those front Engine mounts. You can't mount a high stress point on an oddy frame by just scabbing it on. The oddy frames are very thin skinned. Without gussets it's gona bust and rip a chunk out of the frame tube. The Engine has power. Those rubber mounts look weak too. I bet they rip apart. CO |

Now that the motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) is runnning that is my next goal is reinforcing the motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )). I agree with you I don’t have a lot of faith in those rubber dampers. It makes sitting in the seat real smooth but those aren’t gonna last. I got some boots and some air filters for the carbs so they’re both receiving the same amount of air. Just took it for another spin and it rips. I plan on adding a couple more mounts with some sturdier rubber and maybe even a top Engine mount if I can. |
