The last of a legacy? I cannot believe how complete this kit is. I don’t even know where to begin? Straight down to the hose clamps carburetor rebuild kits new power valve assemblies a second Engine extra mounts... Things that I have no clue what they go for... Tank radiator fan two sets of ignition coils... Gaskets out the wazoo, starter, clutch with zero wear, throttle cable, even new NGK spark plug boots, fuel line, water line, fittings, nuts/bolts/washers, metal plates, CDI (Capacitor Discharge Ignition), etc....The list goes on and on and on and on. Zero instructions. Thank you, Emanual from Farr, and thank you, PilotByrd!

Awesome kit! Wish he still made them. Any possibility of getting Engine mount reproduced? |

Hmm the Engine mount appears to be chromoly steel and powder coated. Its supper heavy-duty. In fact, everything is in this kit. Been playing with it today; assembling some parts to the Engine etc; and this kit is extremely thorough. Looking through it; I honestly don't know how Emanuel was honestly making any money off these kits. They seem almost TOO perfect. Everything in this kit is new, except the 670 Engine and I believe the motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) mount. Unless Farr test fits all his motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) mounts before he sells them; looks like this one was installed for a few minutes at least into a pilot. Is there interest in re-creating the motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) mount? I have a guy that I could ask. No doubt he'd want some cha-thing though. |

I just figured out my purple top Engine is a 670HO, and the red top is a 583. that's about a 25hp different (105hp-->130hp) and apparently quite a BIG deal in the snowmobile world. Still though about 2.5~3x more than stock 400. Looks like the 583 is kit ready to be installed as I think I have everything needed. Looks like I'm missing a regulator/rectifier? Unless the kit can use the stock Pilot rectifier. The 670HO is very old, oily, and crusted up. I might just go with the 583 and on the side prepare the 670HO if the 583 has issue. I'm sure both engines are over-kill in a Pilot. |

Going to throw this out there but the red top Engine is not a 583. I have never seen one like that. I think it’s a 600cc,700cc, or 800cc. Can you verify the cc listed on the name plate? It might list the Engine type. Ex: type 597 |

Its from about a '2000 MKZ 600: https://www.partzilla.com/catalog/ski-d ... reed-valve The Engine plate says 583. My understanding is Skidoo went to a 500/600/700/800 naming convention in about year 2000 and so the actual CC is no longer in the model name/number. But this IS a 583. Reed valve, Power valve, and auxiliary exhaust port cylinder. I think its about 105HP. |

I think its about 105HP. Hmm.... I have to check mine now. My Engine is from a 1999 mxz 600. Way easier to mount that bad boy in a pilot vs a 670. Use the Engine side intakes from a 2008+ mxz600-800. They lift the cabs up over the gearbox. See attached photo. Attachment: 5B36C728-3173-4485-943C-5544D82794CB.jpeg [ 29.51 KiB | Viewed 104049 times ] |

You know what? It is a 593. The number plate was scratched up but after looking again, no doubt its a 593 and NOT a 583. Thank you! |

I would take an Engine mount as long as reasonable price. |

that Engine mount may not work with the 670 in a pilot depending on what version of the mount it is. It looks shorter than the original 583/670 mount. If it is the orignal tall mount either 670 or 600 will work with it, but if its the shorter mount meant for the later engines i believe you are going to have trouble clearing the carburetors even if you use the seadoo carbs. As far as regulator, you can use a stock pilot regulator it all just depends on how you plan to wire this up. I have done them both ways building an entire new wire harness or just hooking into the stock pilot harness. |

That Engine with the red head is a 04 rotax 600ho and is around the same hp as the 670, that is the Engine that goes with the Engine mount in the kit. The 670 pictured did not come from me and will not work with the Engine mount in the pic. I switched to these newer rotax engines because the seadoo carbs on the 670s were causing me problems, if you have an fl350 put the 670 in that with the stock carbs |

The 600 sport model like the one Curtis has is a type 597, the 600ho is a type 593 |

Oh boy oh boy! I cannot wait to try all this out. Emmanuel, why would this kit have two intakes? They look identical. I wonder if Byrd was thinking of converting 2 machines? |

In Canada there must be piles of these engines all over the place. In Atlanta GA where it never snows... I bet these engines may be the only ones in the entire state less I know there’s another Rotax Pilot in north ga. I can’t tune EFI Carbs - no issue.

Well, to some degree I think he is. He would have to say for sure. I can tell you he has helped me with the CDI (Capacitor Discharge Ignition) and some wiring questions. |
