Hey, guys. I recently acquired a pretty decently running FL350 and am looking to take it apart and rebuild it. It runs well but is very slow to get going. I'd like to tear it all down, repaint it, and build it back to make more power. I'm not an experienced fabricator so would prefer to stick to bolt-ons. I can probably figure some stuff out and have access to some machining and welding tools if I need to use them. So far I'm decided on getting the DG exhaust. That's about all I can find that fits easily. The rest and I've been looking at one of the only retail websites I can find for this buggy online and the prices are offensive. Guy wants like 200 dollars for a U joint or something. :-[

So, the first thing I'm looking at buying is the carb and I think a 39mm PWK carb would work better than the stock one. https://ebay.to/3BmlJvv. The problem is that I can't just put this on the stock intake manifold. So I need to find a way to get one. I found one online but the guy is charging 200 dollars for a 3d printed part. Which is like a few cents worth of resin and a some steel. I'm not sure how to proceed on this. Anyone know where I can get the stuff to make this thing fit? Or is the product worth purchasing? I have no problem dishing out cash for a premium product. But reviews have been kind of scaring me away from that particular company. Any and all tips are greatly appreciated. I've been staring at parts for this thing for hours and am starting to get lost. Thanks in advance.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LSpMnGdg50o This is pretty close to what I'd like to achieve by the time I'm finished.

Note: I posted this in the other -very similarly named- forum earlier today not realizing where I was. I don't want to piss that guy off into not doing business with me because, honestly, I don't know if his products are actually that bad or if I'll need to buy one of his fabrications in the future. He also told me that the reasonably priced U joints are going to destroy my shocks. Anyone have any insight on this?

Thanks in advance, guys. I'll be sure to post pictures as I go along with the process.

If any of you guys in the forum have stuff for sale that fits my build goals I'd be happy to do business with you.

For the intake to fit the carb, this: is probably your *best* option if you don't mind paying https://www.ebay.com/itm/401195972250?hash=item5d6924b69a:g:ErsAAOSwVa9iBEjT
OEM u-joints, assuming they are in good condition are pretty much the best option, so if they feel good then leave them alone. Aftermarket is your only option if you need to replace them.
The eBay ones aren't the cheapest, but good if you need new clips and spacers, saves the headache of trying to replace something you might not have.

One recently posted option for u-joints (copied from another thread):

The GMB part number is 220-0045. $9 at Summit. Keep the washers/spacers when you remove the old u-joints, the snap rings holding them in will probably break on removal so try to locate the correct size before you start.

Also this for parts:
You can try calling Derek Leland Tisinger (661-747-5796) he is a solid source of many new/used parts for FL350's and probably has everything you need.
There is also https://oddballorv.com/ for some new aftermarket parts that may help you, these can be pricy though.
And of course Ebay...

For the pipe, DG is a good option and I don't have one myself but I heard they are very loud. Derek sells a power-pro pipe replica (I think) and I also think that Methodical Fabricator (another member on here) is working on making and getting produced another option which I have no doubt will end up being the best option if you don't mind waiting for it.

To prevent your shocks from getting destroyed when blowing a u-joint you can add shock savers to it. Canadian Oddy has some decent instructions on that as well as Youtube videos on them.
Also since I mention shocks, if the rear shocks are stock, you should consider finding an alternative, the stock shocks are extremely stiff from the factory. Derek sells Works shocks, They are very pricy, but completely bolt-on and a huge improvement. Also a fox air shock will fit if you get the proper mounting kit for it. besides those, you may be able to find a spring that will soften the stock shocks but that will probably require some kind of spacer to fit properly.

That's a lot of great information. Thanks! I already blew both of my stock U joints. They actually broke the first 2 hours or so of driving. I replaced them with the eBay ones and haven't had an issue yet.

But you think that Carb I linked is gonna work? Thanks for linking the intake, too. I couldn't find anything like it when I searched.

I know other people use a 39mm carb and it's definitely an improvement over stock.
When I put my performance build together I think I will go with a 35 PWK Air Striker or maybe bite the bullet and try out one of those smart carbs.
I don't know a whole lot else on the subject though.
