When I first got the odyssey below, I was 11. It was a frame, rollcage and one beat up mess of broken fiberglass and plastic. It ran (like ****) But it ran, haha. For 8 years I have worked on and off on making it how I wanted it to be. Now finally its up and finally completey done. Bored the Engine so that it is at around 55mph. The first roll cage was a bent up POS that literally was so bad in rust, when I first rolled it *13* the rust was so bad it snapped near the Engine and hit the belt (oh and it didnt have and skid plates or covers), when that happend I decided... I should learn to weld. So I got out my grinder and the old ass welder my dad gave to me, and went to work. Well to quote some of the guys where I used to work, "I was born to weld", I took the Challenger Style frame I saw online and tried to fabricate it as best I could. I used a torch and a hammer to make the bends and that's where I hit a problem. I ran out of steel pipe from the old cage and all my extra was gone too... I took a 90 degree angle plate of metal, brushed it down and welded it on as a bumper... yeah. So by the day I turned 15, the cage was all new, the plastics were gone, and the Engine was running strong. Just one wee problem. Back axle. Since I hadnt rode it in 2 years I kinda forgot I broke it when it rolled, my bad. So I went to my best buddy... eBay. I saw a Suspension system for a FL250. *didnt know it was the challenger* It got here after THREE MONTHS, but in that time I coated the frame and painted it, made a bottom plate for where the feet go (no bucket= feet dangle). Well when the back suspension got here it had no instructions and was mising a few key components. A shock, the washers, a bearing, and a Engine mount. I found a square piece that I thought would work. NOPE was missing about an inch of length to make it flush with the frame. So I...borrowed... a piece of steel from the steel dumpster at work, haha. It was the right width 1/2in. And I cut it into 2 and welded it on. Hooray i could put the suspension together and it only took 4 months! Well another snap, the axle on one end, was bent and *bruised* as I called it. I could tell the previous owner bent it back with a hammer, but in turn made the steel bend and stretch. I didnt take much notice to it, but I should have. My next step was the final painting and polishing. She looked beautiful except for the air cleaner. That old odyssey Air filter didnt fit anymore and didnt look good on something that wasn't even labeled Odyssey anywhere on it.. yet. So I took that off, got a K&N Filter and put it on... I was done. I took her out for drivers every week until I turned 19.. until I noticed she didnt get much speed and was hard to handle... that axle that was bent, BROKE, I was so mad and frusterated that I let her be for a few months while I looked for a new one. That didnt work so I did the one thing I was nervous about... welding a axle together. After a few hard nights and a lot of work on the lathe, I have rebuilt it and well heres my final result.
