Finally got the steering shaft out tonight.
Had to gut the column out and remove the front brake lines at least. The rear can stay in place as long as I am careful.
its a hard line.

I'll draw up the SS braided brakelines I'll be replacing. But for now here are some pics of the parts.

(I'm also working on the color Pilot Elec. Schematic)

While I was away I got the brake parts I needed.

I needed different Banjoes and an elbow.
To me its not binding or close to rubbing on the rim.
I will use spiral wrap on the area that may need a little wearguard.

I'm getting closer...

The Parts come from www.chassisshop.com

All Parts are AN -3 Steel for the braided line size.

The Banjoe is a straight 3/8 (10mm) to -3 Steel P/N 997603 $8.44 each need 2
90 Degree Elbow P/N 966303 $12.28 each need 2

T Male -3 Alum. P/N 982403 $9.97 each need 1
Adapter 10MM x 1.0 to -3 Steel $10.91 each need 1 This part mates us to the Pilot's Flexible line.

Now for the hoses.....
Of course the pre-tested sizes advertised were not in stock and availability seemed unknown as I spoke with them.

I ended up with....
For the feeder line into the T fitting: 10 inch -3 Hose ST/ST female P/N 63010110 $10.35 each need 1
For the lines to go out to the stock Hubs I had to go with a longer line on one side due to availability.
These are:
26 inch ST/ST Female -3 Hose P/N 63010126 $14.76 each need 1
36 inch ST/ST Female -3 Hose P/N 63010136 $17.48 each need 1

I'll draw it all up and take pics as I finialize and figure out the 'service loop' I'll need to make to suck up the longer line.

Looking good thanks for the parts numbers I cant wait to see how yours works out I know the banjo setup bought was not the best setup that's why I bought 2 different ones so I could bend and tweak to fit better... No clearance or rubbing issues seen so far?

Thanks Guys.
Only rubbing is at extreme angles with the tires off so far.
And this is not to the rim like before. But, to the hub mount/support.

Once I get the final assembly going I will tweek the lengths and use SS Cushion Clamps and if possible use the stock mounting tabs for the Cushion Clamps.

This has been a well worth it take it slow and do it 'close' to right project. I've learned a lot which was the goal.

I could not have done it with out all the support of the board members.

Thank You!

Yipppeee This weekend I got the replacement Steering column with a shaft from Randy. :)

The dealer lost my order and low and behold they are no longer available. It happens.

I cleaned up the parts and threw a coat of paint on the parts.
Need to let it dry and we're ready to start reassembling the Pilot. Whew. Its a year now +.
Worth it though! The shaft and column are tight with each other.

Mass

I used SS Cushion clamps to route the brake lines. They don't rub anymore.
But I think they are more exposed now.

Hi-Performance ATV went belly up 12 years ago. I used to frequent there shop while I was a student working on the Mini-Baja car at SDSU. We used there arms and knuckles for the Mini-Baja cars suspension.

Your upper ball joints look like the VW part but the lowers do not fit what I remember (not that my memory is worth a darn). I know it’s not a lot of useful information but maybe a place to start.

I know this thread is a few years old, and MassOdy ditched the LT kit, but I figured in case someone was looking for this info, Lee is right on.

I ordered the kit back in the 90's and still have the installation instructions with notes I took while speaking on the phone with the guy from HPATV. My notes read:

Upper ball joint: '72 Volkswagon Bug front tie rod end right
Lower Ball Joint: Dana ES140r

I looked up the ES140r, looks like a Moog part number for a Jeep tie rod end...the picture of the part looks identical to what I have on my Pilot.

Mass, have you ridden the Pilot with the brake lines mounted as pictured-if so was there any type of issues.I do like the way you did that,as I just usually zip tie them to the arms, which isnt the best.

The way I mounted the SS brake lines with the double cushion clamp has done quite well over these years.
They can tend to slide a bit if they loosen up.

I don't get riding too much these days with the Pilot. I'm happy with going back to the stock front end for the riding up near me.

Hope everyone is doing well. Sorry I've been away. As usual work and family take over the free time.
