Buggy freak, that's the guy I mentioned earlier in the other thread. Pretty sure he broke that thing. There have been a few used ones up for sale here and there also.

Hoser- I'm pretty sure you would not be promoting this guy if you've seen some of the posts/threads about his past business dealings. A lot of complaints about customer service and generally just being a snake.

Again, all just internet info, I have no personal experience.

The same guy owns two other companies, one makes tube benders and the other makes plasma tables. People are still complaining on the 4x4 sites that the tube bender is not what he advertises it to be.

Scroll all the way to bottom right, in the small print,

http://www.probender.com/probender/drupal/

There is another option for a gearbox if someone doesnt want to put out for the RPM,

http://www.stak4x4.com/mini_buggy_fnr.htm

Still not cheap, but for not much more than the team moto, this looks WAY nicer! Fully machined and not cast. These guys are known for seriously tough gearboxes for the 4x4 guys.

Again I have no personal experience with them, just trying to help.

Thanks for the info yeah I know nothing about the guy or his products just know he is selling boxes so buyer beware maybe pay with a credit card or something that has a buyer protection?

Any links on the bad feedback is welcome.

I've read up a little on the Stak box in the past. As I understand it the Stak4x4 box uses the exact same mounting points as the TeamMoto..the Stak company stated that they were enlisted by a client to build a replacement FNR CVT box that would go in the same mounting locations as the others

Also, the Stak 4x4 company makes transfer cases ,etc, and cuts and hardens their own gears. I read a comment from them where they have many options for a final drive ratio. The side cases look billet too

They are currently listed as $1499 per case

Out of curiosity I looked over their entire website and found no other gear ratios available, nor a place to change input/output shafts. Anyone got a link to research this a little?

I found it 9.1 and 5.1 . You will have to goto home screen then far right in categories go to drive line dropdown menu.$ 899 on either one of them.

I emailed them to see if they're still selling those units, but two days, and no response yet.

GOOD!

Someone should call RPM and ask some questions about the lower HP boxes he used to make. I've seen posts where he says they are available and some that say they are not.

Also for those looking for higher HP should call STAK and ask some questions. About max HP and the price. If they are not selling them maybe they would make a deal. They make their money off the 4x4 guys.

I emailed Dan at RPM, about a smaller unit for lower HP. Awaiting his response. I'll let you guys know what he says. Seems like it would be a great selling product to manufacture. Perfect for the low budget guy running less than 150hp. It would make sense.

I heard from Dan at RPM. He's currently on vacation, but he did answer me. He said he does offer a lower hp gearbox for around $1500. It utilizes the same cases as the $2400 box, but has different internals used for the gears, and different bearings, depending on the power you're running. I did NOT ask about ratios or input/output options. I forgot to ask that...

You just need to get your complete machine shop setup like this guy and make your own everything!

http://www.wasuperlites.com/forum_2/showthread.php?tid=803&page=1

Don't know what he was thinking with the chain drive though. Glad he changed paths to all-gear train.

I sure wish our old machinist was still here. He setup one of the Bridgeports here at work with a 4th (horiz. & vert rotary index) axis and could cut any spline with a fly cutter. He was a crazy genius and he LOOOOVED "government jobs". lol He's the one who made me my 1-1/4" tube bender die in like 2 hrs.

He seems like he stands behind his boxes, and he's very easy to get along with. Email him, and he would need the details of what drive train you're running.
