i have installed and repaired a whole bunch of that fiberglass pipe on condensate lines, we are one of the few that repair fiberglass. Are you a manufactuer? you said research, maybe a testing company?

Before you get too far along... the lids made before could have had more storage space, going from memory they could have been slightly deeper (3/4" ?) longer and wider, you might consider making them larger?

Looks good, much better start than I could've made.

I was worried you'd given up when you didn't respond to my email.

If I had pics with it installed from the underside that could be confirmed, but I don't.

The plan was to trade a good FL250 bottom end for pilot roof or two, but the bottom end has a brand new Comet 94C clutch on it that I plan to use on the FL300R. It has no damn threads in the clutch to remove it, anyone ever seen a Comet clutch without the threads?

I am going to have to build a puller just to remove it or obtain a very large tap.......

I have a 94C puller bolt in hand and it's 9/16 x 18 and it just drops into the hole, my guess is the previous owner drilled it out for some unknown reason or it came that way from the factory.

I think a 3/4" tap would do it, but I will try the homemade puller first, a couple of 1/2" x 2" steel bars under the clutch and snug to the crank should do it.

I have several more bottom ends but they're all in need of seals and/or bearings, only take an hour or so to rebuild, but I have yet to find my box of bearings and seals, went through 15 or 16 boxes this last weekend.

I have a 3/4" tap just used it last night to chase the puller threads on hare's 102C clutch before using his puller, his had dirt, grime, slight rust on the threads... I also have the 3/4" die nut, let me know if you need them, I probably have the 9/16 tap too.

marioparra78,

Are you the one that emailed me about making the lids?

If you're plannng on getting a good quality finish, I recommend that you either contact the person that bought my molds, or have a fiberglass shop make them for you. Having a good mold is the key to producing good parts.

I found that, unless you have a very high quality product, most P-O owners won't spend the money (or trade the parts) to put it on their machine.

My monitary investment was considerable and my time investment was excessive. All things considered, I rate my product at slightly above average. I sold enough tops to break even, then stopped making them because it just took too much of my time. And besides that, the company that did the glass work went out of business.

Good luck with your project.

Vrroom

its been challenging to started. i got about three gallons of urethane for free. so money wise its not a big investment yet. just hours and hours of my time. i went to a plastics supply last weekend got a few ideas and i applied them. it workout.

i been repairing the urethane mold and working on my casting techniques also trying different resins and pigments(grey black and silver)is all i got.

ill put some new pictures up of my progress.

I don't think my compartments will look as well as the OG but their always body filler, paint, and sandpaper.
