Thinking of making and mounting a tool box under the Engine... any thoughts?
lots of space and tools are always good and placed low keeps COG low

Hello
Some more updates
Put in a lanyard just for giggles... the bug is run via toggles and I figure a quick yank if something goes wrong and power off... Also put in a clutch guard out of expanded metal...
Also put the dual choke cables in and mounted the lever behind my right shoulder... It is 24 inches of cable and fits good to the bar...

go oddy,

Looks real good, like the clutch guard, I made one out of expanded metal on a snowmobile, but with smaller holes, lets good air flow compaired to the stock sled sheilds. Just be aware if the clutch does go some will get through, BTDT. Did you find the 90 degree bend hose for your intake?

I may suggest a heat sheild right behind your seat for the pipe. I wrap my pipes as well, but they get hot even here in cool weather in Alaska, even if it is only just a touch away from the seat would be helpful. They also make sticky heat barrier, much like your fiberglass wrap, it has a reflective on the outside with sticky on the back. Sledheads use it for the plastic belly plans on sno-go's and it works great.

Anyways looks good.

Thanks for the kind words...
Yes I agree some pieces will get through it but, as you know, it is a trade off between cooling and ....
I will look into the "sticky heat barrier" I am sure I will need it...
I ended up (well at this point anyway) of using 3 inch I.D. hose that is ribbed inside and out... with two 450R Honda Uni filters... one setup for each carb and it seems to let it breath well so far... no lag at all...
In addition I am happy with the performance of the pipe so far too ... you just never know how they will turn out with the cut and paste method...

Build your own, your going to cry if you pay 350 bux then scratch them, they are like bumpers and designed to be beat up scratched bent, straighten then bent again, they are not hard to build.

The plan was to build my own.. but just for shits and giggles I went to ATV racing and saw the listing for the nerfs at 199.00 and thought man this is great it would take me more than 200 bucks worth of time to build.... but I was misrearding the site.. it turns out the 200 was for the listing above the nerfs and the nerfs did not have a price listed... Just in case anyone was wondering they do have them in white and red powder coat ready to go...I know there was another maker http://www.pre-machining.com/" .".. at one time .. but there site no longer has nerfs listed (that I saw at least) so off to bend and weld so more I guess...

Exactly. I am making my own nerfs right now and I have $200 worth of steel tubing, clevis mounts, tabs, and bending labor (since I don't have a bender). Then 1 full day of my time to build them. But hoser is right it's not all that hard to make them.
