Stock the motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) is rated at 48hp 38tq. This one is bored to 678cc, and has major porting done. I'll guesstimate around 55hp or so. Down a little bit of power from the 670, but should be more useable power, and better fuel mileage for sure.
Yes. I will be shifting gears.

I drove a cart set up with the motorcycle gear box and I actually enjoyed it. Just push forward to upshift and backwards to downshift. No hunting for a slot in an "H" pattern to slow you down!

That's definitely going to be one torque monster!

Sounds awesome.... I always loved watching the guys in the karts going throught the gears with just a click forward or back...
Building these bugs is great for sure... Keep us posted please

My riding buddy has a 660 Raptor motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) in his homebuilt buggy. It is a blast to drive, and doesn't really give up a whole lot of performance against mine with the 670.

That is a standard off the shelf weld hub from the local farm supply. 7/8" bore 3/16" key. Strange that it is not metric but it fits perfect.
My buddy tig welded it.

looking good what shocks are they in the back and front and do they ride nice ?

with that chain set up you may want to guard that thing

keep a watch on how hot it runs because of the short length
my want to run a double wide roller not for the strength but the heat
or you may be able to run in a oil bath you have a lot of room there now

looking good keep up the good work

It's not wired to run it yet. Still some stuff just tacked together.

I can run the stock front chain guard, and there will be a guard between the chain and the brake disc to keep the chain lube away from the brakes.
Chain heat is a concern, 16 front and 15 tooth rear sprocket, shortish chain, but there's no way to know for sure except to try it. I have a rather expensive, to me at least, 420 X-ring chain that will give me the best chance of avoiding too much heat. fingers crossed.

The rear shocks are factory Ford Explorer air shocks, the fronts are RydeFX Air2.0. Fronts work great, rear work decent. I'll probably try something different on the rear sometime next season.

I was going to inquire where one might find a quality set of stands like those!

Full of coarse!

Those are engineered ride height simulators. Critical to front end geometry calculations.
There are usually some around here, but i find that once you touch them, they seem to lose their contents rather quickly..
