WOW...PLEASE SEND THAT VIDEO TO HONDA. That is an excellent all around job man. Very inspirational for sure. Any casualties or breakdowns during your trip? How does the new 4 stroke feel compared to the Original Powerplant? Looks like it really pulls...great video.

Whats up .....All? Things have been kind of crazy between work and my rebuild of the pilot. I finally got it up and running after lengthening the frame in order to mount the new larger motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )). I took it for a long trip and it performed better than I expected. It now has unbelievable bottom end power thus resulting in a top speed of 125kmh.
In the up and coming future, I will be making a video wich will be posted up on You Tube. In addition, I will send a link as well as pictures of the build. Thank you all so very much for the help!!!

in this post he stated that he lengthened the frame.

hi all pilots, good to hear that you like the video, there will be more(and without music).
the first run was very good but i needed to change the spring and wights of the clutch,
the next run(the making of the video)was much better.this Engine pulls very strong in any condition, its always spins the rear wheels.
the Engine is very quite so it feels like you are going slow but as you can see on the video it rides faster then the polaris rzr.
the top speed was 125 kph it was unbeliveble.i have 15 liters of gas and its good for 120 km of hard driving.
this 4 stroke Engine allows you to ride it top speed all day long.
i streached the frame by 180mm, i cut it where the seat ends.i cut the front side of my old side panel and place it in front of the new side panel and that's how i "streched" the side panel(after i streched the frame)it was very hard to do all this work.
so far so good every thing works good and nothing broke.i still need to assemble the rear fox shox and test it.
in the video im riding in south of isreal there are lots of it in here.

Maybe you have found the Engine Honda should be using in the 2012 Honda FL600 Pilot?

The down tubes were custom made then? Any hopes of modding the head or high compression pistons avail for that scooter Engine? Know any specs on the bore/stroke and piston deck height or anything? Really is a stellar build for sure...love the reluctor ring and speed input sensor. BOOOOooooo on the shirt tho lol.

Tal,

Nice job!!! You need to teach me how to stretch a pilot in less than 3 years. Haha Could you show where/how you stretched the frame? Intrested in any variations.

Yeah,i'm always struggling for something!

It was a joke Hoser,I didnt think you were a big fan of modern four strokes. So to hear you say put one in the new pilot was a suprise. No big deal.

Oh I am not a fan of the modern 4 strokes meant to replace the 2 strokes when they grenade it cost a small fortune to rebuild and they are short lived, you can do the same job with a 2 stroke for 1/4 the cost, to jet one of these modern marvels cost you 500 bux +, remember all the kids bitching about spending 40 bux for a hand full of jets to jet their 2 stroke now the jackasses shell out 500 bux and never think twice haha, the whole concept and package is just plain stupid, any carbon foot print saved by going to a cleaner burning 4 stroke is lost just in all the extra parts required to make a 4 stroke vs the 2 stroke not to mention manufacturing, shipping, storing, inventorying, packaging all these extra unnecessary parts required to so the same job talk about stupid.

My comment was based on the fact that Honda was one of the major players that killed the 2 stroke Engine and unless something dramatic happens I doubt you will ever see Honda produce another 2 stroke that leaves you with a 4 stroke, any chances of Honda making a 2012 Pilot that has anything other than a 4 stroke is slim to none.

I would assess my comments to analyzing this subject as being realistic if anything not sure why your pushing for anything else :-)

Seen a brand new 800 watt generator for sale the other day at the local farm store for 190.00 had a 2 cycle Engine and meet the CARB requirements, not sure how they pulled that one off I almost bought one just to experiment with and to CSI the Engine, I was really shocked to see it 2 cycle.

hi, akpilot
your work was my inspritation!!!
i visited your project numerous times befor i cut mine.(then i understood why you didnt recommend to do that).
but it was worth it.
i cut the frame at the down tubes in the middle of the bend.made a new longer bend and inserted it in the streched frame.the rest was simple.
i need to find this stage pictures, there you can see it all.
akpilot, you did great job,its a piece of art!!!!! do you have the finished project pics?or a video?or tell me how it rides.

hi hoser.
you are right,2 stroke is cheaper, smaller, lighter and stronger!
im a hard core 2 stroke fan!
but the pilot top speed is about 90 kph, the motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) breakdown alot when you are riding it with crazy atvs and rzr guys ,that rides full throtle all day long for minimum 100km at110kph.with the 2 stroke i couldnt reach them(it was humiliating)and felt sorry fo the Engine.
in a closed course i was the king with the 2 stoke,no doubt about it! i have another 89 pilot and it will stay 2 stroke despite im getting hard time to find parts for its motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )),threre are alot of parts honda doesnt make any more.
and after long ride with the 2 stroke i keep hearing bzzzzzzzzzzzzzz for two days(with helmet)!!
i have 2 stroke killer pilot for slow and tight turns course and rzr/atv abuser 4 stroke for the long trips!
i hope you enjoyed the video there will be alot more.
