your making excellent progress, looking good :-)
I am a little concerned with how wide that front end looks, how wide does that measure?

Thank you.

Yeah I am not crazy about the front end width either, it measures 67"s from outside to outside of the front tires. Right now the rear end width is 60.5"s, but I just bought a pair of used 3" wheel spacers on Feebay for the rear end so it will be ruffly the same as the front. I want to ride before making any changes but I may chop the front of the frame back off right behind the shock mount and take 8-10"s back out of it. It would be right where your feet are so i don't think it will be too uncomfortable.

Damn that is going to be so cool! Im just guessing that that thing is going to take 5 miles to turn, a stock odyssey is bad enough, let alone a wiiide front end. Either way it is still verry cool. I hope to see it become a machine that actually is fun to ride. Keep up the great work!

Thank you.
I read on one of the buggy sites that a wider front end will aid in the turing radius with a locked rear end. Honestly I have no idea, but we shall see I guess. lol.. if it is a total turd to drive I'll cut the front end off and see if I can pull 8-10"s out of it. Honestly I think it would look a better that way, but I don't want to make any changes until I have driven it so I have a base line to compare too.

At least you've got reverse!

Fast progress -- I'm jealous!

Really nice job, I love the creativity. Did you say you have 3" spacer for each side or 3" total (1.5" each side") Either way you're going to be putting a lot of pressure on those spindles. If it's 3" each side I'd be surprised if held up for more than a few rides. You could reinforce the hubs/spindles and/or the bearings which would help.

Keep up the great work, this is a fun build to follow! It fun to watch a build that goes relatively fast, not those forever builds like the one that Asaszn Clown is doing....

Thank you.
The spacers are 3 "s per side so it would be a total width gain of 6 "s. Really good point on the additional strain on the hubs & bearings, I guess I should have given it a bit more thought before buying them.

I made a little progress on the Ody this afternoon. Got all the brake lines built, but unfortunately I think my Master cylinder finally gave out. The brakes had been getting worse and worse on the donor Ody and right before i pulled it all apart the rears were very spongy. I just assumed it was low on fluid & they needed bled, but looks the Master cylinder needs rebuilt. I ordered a kit for it this afternoon. I added 14"s to the middle of the wiring harness and got most of it all ran. Installed the Engine, and got a better handle on where I can put the shifter.

A little more progress yesterday afternoon.

I worked out the parking brake issues. I took a small piece of round bar that I would normally use to correct panel gaps and welded a couple of small washers to the ends and used it to extend the cable. It seems to work well and I was able to keep the parking brake in the factory location. I finished installing all the rest of the gas tank, exhaust etc... and fired it up to test the wiring harness since I had to lengthen it. I am happy too report she fired right up. :-)

I need to run back into town and pick up some 3/4 OD tubing so I can extend the right Tie Rod and that should finish up the steering. I had high hopes to take this thing out this coming weekend but it will all depend on when the master cylinder kit shows up. The rest will be just little things to finish up. Assuming it handles well, this has been a pretty smooth & simple build. ::-:

LOOKS AMAZING so far. good job. cant wait to see the final product,

you can always add some wheel spacers if the front looks to wide. i added 2.5" spacers on my odyssey that i have the kawonda a arm kit on the front to bring the rear as wide and the front(outside of tire)

Thank you for the kind words.
I'm just curious, what is the front width of your Ody with the Kawonda front end?
Thanks again,
Nick

A little more progress..

I finished up the shifter, seat & harness mounts as well as relocated the CDI (Capacitor Discharge Ignition), & coil well... Painted the cage and set it on with just a bolt here & there too get a better idea of how it will look. Still need to build the front bumper, foot tub and a few other odds & ends, but it is really close to the first ride. :-)

LOL  You can kick the recliner up to get air to the Engine.

It needs to be one of those red 70's heart shaped love seat.
