Hey everyone, here is my 78 FL250 that I picked up from a buddy for $100. It came with a brand new 5-point RCI racing harness and a partial CDI (Capacitor Discharge Ignition) conversion. The plan is to strip it, check the Engine out and do a full re-paint of the frame/cage, add a high back RCI racing seat/cover, lights, arm restraints etc.

Nice project, I look forward to your progress. I had both a 77 & 79 250 Ody many years ago & loved them.

PM me if you need parts. I have some left over from my FL250 project a while back.

I recommend powdercoat over paint...much tougher finish, looks as good as paint...

I am going to be using POR15 ,we carry it at work so I can get a deal and I have read good things about its durability.

This is my first Odyssey and kart/buggy for that matter. I jumped on it because of the price and after doing some research they seem to be fairly bulletproof. I am going to be using it at first but when my boys are old enough it will be theirs, hence the reason I want to put a full cage and all the safety equipment on it.

IMO Por15 is tougher than Powder Coat. It is amazing paint if done right. Plus easy to fix and repaint. If you never heard of POR15 do some googling. You may be surprised.
