Hi guys, I finally got this finished!!

Ok, I have replaced all the rubber lines with braided lines.

Rear.

Caliper end.


Hard line end.


I'm thinking of placing washers in between the fittings to help support the hard line as it's missing that little retaining clip.




Front.

Hard line end where it comes from the Master cylinder & joins the T fitting.
I placed washers on either side of the mount point in between the fittings & it holds perfectly.





The T fitting where it joined with front hard line that was eliminated with one piece of braided line out to the right wheel.





I got a better pic & replaced the blurry one.
This is the right wheel hub with the banjo fitting.


I took some of the left wheel today 19/05/12 when I realised I forgot it. Sorry about the last pic, it's difficult to access with all the junk in my garage.





I'm happy with the results.

Best part is that all fittings & lines are simply replaceable if damaged. No customised fittings, all were off the shelf items.

Now to fill & bleed!

Brake light fittings will come a bit later as I still have a bit of fussing to get that sorted.

Looks good.

How much would it cost to make a "kit" shipping would probably be a deal killer from down under?

Where did you get the hoses and fittings from?

Lengths and sizes would be important too!

I managed to find an of the shelf here in the US for the rear brake line but never chased down the front end parts.

Note: All prices are in Aud & would incur 10% GST added to the total. Unsure if he would charge that for international orders.

The lines I got were for imperial (Harley Davidson threads, hence the adapter requirement.). My reason was that all these lines conform to the ADR (Australian Design Rules) compliance regulations, so they're safe & very easy to find what I wanted very cheaply.

2 x Adapters 3/8nf to 10 x 1mm $8.00 each
One adapter for each brake line kit. As these are the link between the Honda lines & the ones I used. If you can find these lines in the correct 10 x 1.0mm thread, it would make fitting much easier.
However, this hasn't been overly difficult, just had to use me noggin! lol

As I mentioned before, if you damage a line or fitting, they are very easily replaced.

You may even find these components on ebay in the US. I found this guy on ebay Aust & he said a lot of his customers are from the US.

I managed to find the fittings for the rear from Summit Racing here in the US. I detailed the part numbers and the lengths of the hose but I'll be damned if it can find the post!

I just took some more pics that I realised I had forgotten, I'll edit my post & add them in.

Thanks guys for the info sooner or later all our OEM rubber lines will need replacing.

It would cost around $141aud to purchase & ship to me from the bike guy.

Then I have to go to the brake shop to buy the other two fittings for $8 each.

Then ship it all to the US.

So, $157 would get you the kit to me then shipping to the US on top. 10 kits could easily be packaged up quite cheaply by the guy & ship directly. You would still need to source the 'adapter' component I listed from a brake supplier.

Perhaps someone could buy 10 kits & have them delivered to himself then send them on to everyone else for their usual shipping costs with in the US.

I really think these things could easily be sourced locally to you guys.
