Looking more north east, over the big mountain to the far right

Not many trails no real trails like you find at Little Sahara the place is so
big it seems most don't bother to ride on the areas that would make a
good trail system, their are trails that go off in the distance that are
tight for a Pilot and probably better explored with a quad.

You will like the place trust me.

Its about 700 miles for you?

Dennis, you need to come along if for no other reason than Hoser needs more competittion. I gave it everything I had, but it's tough keeping up with you young wippersnappers and your wild two strokes. Bring that 670 and let it strut it's stuff.

If we could get litespeed's attention, he would love this place also.

Jerry

If I have 1/2 your ambition and get-up-n-go in 10 to 20 years I'll be counting my lucky stars...

Looks/Sounds like you guys had a good trip...

I hate to admit this but LS has been starting to get a little old - I think I need to hookup on some of the other rides and check out a few different ride areas...

Rock Springs is about 700 miles or 13 hours for me - A bit futher than LS at 425 miles...

Your right I do need to get the 670 out and let it run

PS
So when are we headed back out that way ? Early Fall when other places are still to hot ?

Later
Dennis

I wont be going back to LS unitl spring next year, if Killpecker weather is nice
enough to ride then I will go back there in the spring, if the weather is bad then
I will go back to LS.

We are thinking about another trip this year maybe in Aug. probably around
the second week, my mom will be up from florida her and my son are itching to
go on a riding trip so I want to take them who knows maybe we will end up at
LS hehe

Jerry you have any more ideas on dates?

Summer weather up there is usually dry and fairly dependable, fall is touch and go, winter is bleak, and spring can be pretty rough (wet season in the west). It can and will snow up there anytime between Labor day and Memorial day, biggest problem would be the roads accross Wyoming and into the Killpecker dunes. Access into Little Sahara, Utah will generally be better and might be seen as a backup in case weather at Killpecker causes road problems.

I have plans for most of July, I think we are to take the second set of grandkids riding in August, I will have to check and see just when. Other than that, and if my cardiologist doesn't put the halt to it, I should be ready to ride.

I would still like to ride at least once at Little Sahara, Oklahoma in the fall, anywhere up to around Thanksgiving would be cool with me.

Dennis, do you have a quad to go exploring with, or are you gonna be taking mine out with Hoser?

I've got access to a Polaris 300 and I've been toying with either getting a nice quad or a dirt bike...

I'd say lets try and do Killpecker (that is Rock Springs Right) in late summer or early fall and then maybe hit LS OK Mid to late fall...

Did you guys stop at Walden also ?

Author:  Drakman [ Tue Jun 28, 2005 6:20 pm ]
Post subject:

We did stop at Walden, but the sand was so rough from the prior weekend that we only went around it once and then pretty much forgot about it. If we worked in at the end of the week, the sand would likely be a lot better.

Like Hoser said, we are going to try for August. I still need to check with the family to see what dates will work.

I got pics of walden but only of the camp here are some better ones to give you
an idea http://www.dunereview.com/forums/index. ... topic=1939

I will dig up mine and post, the pace was rough from the weekend traffic like we
have seen at LS there was a lot of whoops, place will be nice when the wind
blows in "new" sand, its worth the trip to stop and see it at least one time
I think Drakman said it was only like 50 miles out of your way if you
take the "walden detour" off RT80, good place to spend the night and
do some riding...
