I know I missed a bunch of riding areas on my big trip west, I drove by plenty of places I didnt check out but wanted to now I am researching these places for the next big trip.

Here is a place they race in Henderson NV just south of Vegas, I have pics of the dry lake I will find and post.

My image is a low rez version for a high rez version go here

I have passed some of those dry lakes in the past. I was tempted to try them out, but no one was around and I didn't know if it was OK.

We gonna see some Pilot land speed record set?

I wont be attempting any Pilot land speed records, if I drive that far it will be to cover as much of that Henderson race course as I can.

Looks like I will need a long range tank or a pit crew to cover it all heh, maybe using the bug would be the best mpg? Wonder how many mpg a Rhino gets?

Been There Done That one!!!
Back when I had my Chinese P.O.S. w/o any good I bounced across there!!! After about 20 minutes of getting beat to death I decided to go up one of the dirt roads to see what I could find!!! I got exactly 2 miles (brand new gps) from my truck when all of the sudden the POS motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) dies... I had to walk down the hill pack up the truck and drive up this gravel road. I almost got stuck when I moved over for passing car! I then had to use a come-a-long to load the chinese buggy onto the trailer. Next came the fun part!!! I had to BACK UP 1/2 way down the hill till I got to the lake bed before I could turn around!!! Did I mention how rough this thing rode???
The next morning I did a C.S.I. and finally found the little 20 amp blade style fuse that I had never been able to pull out with my fingers FREAKIN' FELL OUT!!!
That's about the time I started looking @ Honda's!!!

Would I go back??? Yes even with stock shocks on my ody it wouldn't be bad. Lots of mine roads to explore!!!

Did you go up the 15 north of Las Vegas??? There is a spot off of the Nellis AFB exit with a ton of hills looks like several hundred acres!!!

On 70 just across the line near Grand Juntion,Co there is a good place also!!! I don't get up that far north very often so I couldn't say much about these spots YET...

I will have the GPS files loaded in my GPS when I go back so can follow the course exactly.

You mean the Las Vegas Dunes?
