Awesome site. Always wanted one of these. I've had the dirt bikes, trikes and quads, but always wanted one of these. I found 2 1984 FL250's for $500 up here...I thought it was a good deal, so I bought them...

What's the top speed on these things? Mine seems pretty slow. The belt looks a little wore so I got a new one coming in tomorrow. I believe I've crossed the # correctly to a Carlisle UA405. I hope that makes a difference.
I have one complete and the other one is complete but disassembled. The complete one hasn't ran in over a year. We drained the gas, cleaned the air filter, new plugs and on the first pull she fired up...I thought that was pretty amazing.
Should these idle? Mine wouldn't idle, but we have since taken the carb apart and cleaned it - hope that helps. Gonna try it tonight for the first time since the carb cleaning.
An electric start would be a bonus, that's for sure. Can't see paying the $300+ for it though.

Anyway, awesome site. My next goal is to score an FL350 - maybe I'm delusional?
