Welcome to the site congratulations on the 350, where do you live and ride?

Any known issues, has it been setting for a long time, many older ATV's end up with fuel system issues, bad fuel or rust.

Thanks for your service to our country!

I second that.....thank for your service!

You will want to check the compression of that bad boy and try to determine the condition of the top end. Every FL350 I get a hold of I have heard the following......Oh it runs great! It's just been rebuilt! It has less than 10 hours on it! Blah Blah Blah..... When I bought mine this is what I was told. Turns out the top end had more like 100 hours on it. People tend to way over exaggerate the condition or the lack of hours put of these machines.

For reliability.....leave it stock if you can. Water cooling the head will add a lot more cooling to the top end and extend it's life.

Where will you be stationed when you get home?

1.Compression test, most people agree it needs to be at least 125 or higher
2.Leak down test, you need to make sure it doesnt have any air leaks.Youll need to do a search on here on how to do it and make a tester
3.Change the balancer oil and transmission oil
4.check airfilter
5.check tank for rust and change fuel filter if bad

that should get you started

As far as the head goes you'll just have to search the internet mostly Evilbay!

I would recommend using a Mercedes Benz auxiliary water pump.

Here is a picture of one.
