moved to san diego in 1980 for job ,, my son (10) at the time got snookered into going to an oddysee and 3 wheeler race one sunday.. i say snookered cause i remembered what a piece of crap i thought they were when they came out :( The old Barona race track outside of Ramona Ca.. dam didnt know they could have that much fun with only a couple changes,, after the race couple of the guys let me run their car around the track a couple laps. do i need to say ahhh, hey, wifey we NEED to get a couple of those :P LOL.
my son and i started racing barona and a couple other tracks, and going to the desert between races.
hear are a couple pics of back in the day..my son in the stocker i started with and some of my class III car one of the first group with the HONDASAKI engines,, mine was the first with the gearcase moved to center. it had 10" travel in rear and 7" up front, not bad for 1983.. the last pic is the old class I back out of mothballs.
