Hi guys and gals! My name is Joe.

Picked up a machine that has had a rough life. The previous owner brought it back to life and got it trail worthy, I want to make it complete.

Welcome to the board Joe!

By the way, your monicker is almost the same as the company name of another fellow some of Ody owners buy parts from named Joseph. His business is OddATV.com

The head on your Ody happens to be a pre-recall straight fin head. The post recall head happens to have a "Y" shaped configuration to allow for better cooling. I have heard there are several people who have used the straight fin with no performance issues.

Anyway, you mentioned in your video that you want to change your Ody over to a spun aluminum gas tank. When you do so, you will need to run the stock fuel pump. Gravity feed will not be able to keep up with gas needs and you will burn a hole through the top of the piston.

If there is anything else you need to know about your Ody just ask. One of us will be more than happy to help you out.

Rand

Welcome to the addiction Joe.

A few things I wanted to add to Randman's comments. Your carb looks like a mikuni flat slide, and if it has the correct float valve (I forget which one it is supposed to be) you will not need a fuel pump. Do a little research and I'm sure you can find out which float valve is best for gravity feed and check to see if yours has it. Also, it sort of looks like your intake manifold is cracked (the rubber coupler between the carb and the reed cage). I suggest inspecting and replacing if it is cracked, do not try to silicone seal it, it never works. Also, your comment on the fuel pump mixing the fuel and oil was incorrect, odysseys and pilots were never oil injected from the factory.

Good luck with your project and keep us posted.

Hi Joe

Nice to see another FL350 being brought back to life a nice project

Just a couple of things re your Vid

1/ The steering wheel has a lot of movement in it you will need to look at the tie rod ends on the base of the
steering shaft and the ball joints on the steering knuckles. You might need to replace the bottom bush in the steering
column. And there may be wear on the lower part of the steering shaft. If you listen to my vids that is the knocking noise
as I am on the slow rough stuff.

Items 3 and 6 by the sounds of things they not in good shape

2/ IMPO I still would run a fuel pump just from info I have read and experiences of others.

But as nickRNR said if it has the right float you should be right

3/ Leave the Stock air box it is there for a reason if anything do a Duel Intake Mod and
make it breath better.

4/ When you come in to money, Win , steal or beg. Buy new shocks. Works are the go. but do your home work.

5/ your missing the hand brake opps E brake and cable and park brake assy on the rear caliper assy

This is my old ody. The carb is a mikuni tm34 flat side set up for Gravity feed with larger needle seat. It should not need to be pump fed in fact mikuni puts a flooding warning against pump feeding it's setup. If you want to convert it to pump fed, mikuni sells the proper needle seat for converting to a pump fed setup. The egt worked but needed a new probe off eBay very cheap. I sent the op a pm on getting the carb tuned a little better if he wants to. In all this was a very fun machine indeed and hope it goes well for its current Owner.
