Post subject:  Hi all - Newby here from Germany

Hi Guys,

let me introduce myself with my Honda Pilot here. My name is Nils, am 38 years old and I'm from Dresden, Germany. I am a Hondafan and drive even Honda Prelude and Honda Z600.

Now I could buy a Honda Pilot by chance - it is so far the only one I know in Germany !?

Here once a few pictures:

In Germany there is no official information about the model, therefore a few questions to the professionals here:

1. How much horsepower does an original Honda Pilot?

2. What has the Honda Pilot cost in 1990?

3. Is there maybe even more Honda riders from Germany?

Best regards from Dresden
Nils

Hello there,

Thanks for the welcome. My English is apparently too bad around here to points. :-( I beg your pardon.

The pilot has cost 750 euros. The condition is very good - but it lacks the mirror, the steering wheel hand restraints and the bumper.

How much horsepower the pilot is not known here?

See you soon
Nils

If that Pilot is 750 euro, you should buy it fast. That is about $830 US dollars. In the US its worth $4000 to $6000 US Dollars depending on condition. (which in the pic looks pretty nice)

I think the HP low 30's (maybe 34??)

34 hp enough for such a fast car ?! My Yamaha RD 350 YPVS with 350cc has 60 hp. No matter - me rich 34 hp :-).

The label is also interesting. The pilot is shown here with "FL 400R". Other pilots are with "Pilot". Where does the difference?

Best regards
Nils

That looks like a good purchase at 750 euro. How does it run? I cant answer why your Pilot says FL400R. Maybe they are aftermarket stickers?

What year is your RD350? I thought I saw one in the back ground of one of the Pilot pictures. I have a 1974 RD250, it was actually purchased new by my mother. She put about 500 miles and I rode it when I was in high school. It was put in storage in 1978, has less than 2000 miles on it now. For its time the 250 was a scary fast bike, I cant imagine how fast the 350 is. Do you have more pictures of the RD350?

Hi DC,

Nothing easier than that, here are the pictures of the Yamaha RD 350 YPVS from 1983:

The RD has a top speed of 200km / h (tested on the highway) - a shorter gearing, but only 160 km / h - which is better for the quarter mile :-) The RD is a gift to my wife - I wish a two-stroke Engine with kickstarter.

I have found a solution for the label. After the Engine number of the HP's is a European model. The stickers differ in USA and Europe:

The Honda Pilot is going very well - here a short video - a HP in Dresden, Germany:

For sale price of the HP - someone has purchased its HP here even the Honda dealer? Perhaps there are also brochures?

Best regards
Nils
