Welcome new guy.
Nice machine and it looks familiar. Did you buy it from a member here ??
This is a great site with good people. Tremendous amount of info on this site.
If you want to search for something then use the search box above.
The best way to use it is to type ONE word only in the search box then hit enter.
Then when the results come up there will be a search these threads box. Type ONE word only and hit enter. Do this as many times as necessary to narrow it down. If you don't do it this way you will get to many hits and you won't find what you are after.
Welcome

I think just about everyone who owns an oddy belongs to this site at one point or another.
Parts are hard to find sometimes as these machines are 30yrs old but there are solutions.
Don't know if you managed to navigate this site but if you need to contact a specific individual then click on the members tab, find the name and click on them. On the screen will be a tab that says pm. That's a private message system and it will go to their inbox.

Lots of very smart people here. Some are engineers of various disciplines' and we even have someone who works for Honda. Others are chassis builders (dragster), electricians, millwrights etc. Not to many dumb dumbs on this site. It also seems to me that a lot of us are in our 50's so we have experience.

Very nice looking Pilot. Looks like an ATV racing special....
I wonder if it also has the ATV racing Engine (porting)? I hope not as they were very difficult to jet and keep running correctly... If it does though, we can help you out.
Welcome to the addiction. :-)

I am not sure it runs great as of now I'm planing on pulling it down to the frame and having the frame powder coated. the frame has been spray painted in some areas and does not match After they get it stripped I'll be looking for cracks.

What was wrong with the porting?

That was a real mess. Hoser and others have seen some bad porting from ATV Racing but others have good luck. I don't know if I have a write up here on my experience with my jug from them. I had some of the best guys on the forum help me with the jetting and could never get it corrected. If I remember it was washing the gas out too early or something like that. I should have just trashed the ATV Racing jug and bought another and sent it to kenoconnorracing.com or find a porting guru here on the forum but I was hoping I could get it resolved on the next bore. I ended getting with ron at Pulse Engineering for a pulse injection kit. Problem solved... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-CR500-Int ... YQ&vxp=mtr

I would read up on "plug chops"/jetting or at the very least do thorough plug chops for BOTH mid throttle and full throttle. That will be a good start to see if you have her jetted correctly.

Your shop has warehouse shelving -- pics of the shop.
