Hi everyone. Just wanted to introduce myself. I am 55 Years old and retired from the DOD. I just purchased a 1989 and 1990 pilot. I have been wanting one for awhile now and lately I have purchased 2. Both seem to be strong runners with the 89 having a big bore kit with a CW racing head, The 90 is stock and runs good. I had to rebuild the carb on the 89 because it wouldn't idle and was loading up under load. Got that squared away now and it is running great now. Here are a few picks of the 90. I don't have any yet of the 89 yet. I have been a gear head since I was a kid. Here are a couple of other projects I have built over the years. Looking forward to getting out and riding when the weather gets better.

Welcome new guy.
Some nice toys there.
Most of the active guys here seem to be in their 50's (I'm 58) with a few young punks in the late 30's. All good people here, very smart people.
The site has been slow lately but most are on here between 7pm and 10pm west coast time, during the week days. Weekend is most active it seems.
There is a thread in the General section that will tell you how to use the search box. Sometimes it's faster just to ask. Everything you ever need to know about these machines is on this site.
One of the things I have noticed about the Pilots is that many owners neglect to pull the axels and grease the splines up. There are some real horror stories here on that issue. It can be a major job to get these out if they are corroded in. Just thought I would warn you.
Welcome.

Thanks for the welcome Canadian Oddy. Appreciate the response. I live in Eastern Washington and trying to figure out what trails are good in this area. I used to live in Utah and we had some very good sand dunes called Little Sahara just South of Eureka and north of Delta, UT. I have a TRX450R and a TRX400EX also, which me and my son used to ride all the time. Son is all grown up now and has his own family so I think I am going to put the 400EX up for sale and keep the 450R. Its just too much fun to sell. Any one know if (CW racing) does good work? My 89 has a CW racing cylinder head and a big bore kit which I assume CW did at the same time and it seems to run pretty strong. I would like to get both engines freshened up at some point and would like to know if there is someone close by or should I stick with CW. Here is a pic of my son on the 400EX at Cherry creek which was next to Little Sahara.
