 Post subject: New anxiety pilot owner

Hello all, im new to forum and new owner of a 1989 pilot , please chim in on what i need to do for a top end , explain like your talking to a 10 yr old, not new to 2 strokes ,but the amont of info on pilots is mind blowing, where you get plugs for leak down test? What should i check if replacing top end , any help is appreciated

If your goi g to be doing your own work I would strongly suggest buying or downloading a service manual.

For the pressure tests. You can buy a aluminum plug for the intake, commonly used for turbo cars blow off valve plug. Drill and thread if for a fitting. Get some flat steel stock to block off the exhaust. Use your manifold to mock up the steel, cut and drill as needed.

Klemm vintage sells a pressure test kit setup.

Thanks curtis , got the service manual a few days ago. Compression is 110. Cold ,120 hot, top end in pilots future, i appreciate your response.
