After looking for a year or two on Ebay,Craigslist,Trader Online, forums, for a FL350 to come available within a days drive from Oklahoma City,I found one on Craigslist in San Antonio Texas. So I unloaded my work tools from the truck bed and headed south from Oklahoma City. It ran great and looked good for 25 years old.I had just sold my Yamaha 225 Enduro motorcycle and my sons Yamaha PW Zinger 80, he never rode it anyhow, hes not an adrenaline junkie like his old man. I didnt ride my 225 much cause I just got done restoring my 69 Camaro, come on, which would you rather drive. After getting the Odyssey home, the kid showed an interest in it so I bought another one from Ike the Toyman on this forum. This time I unloaded the tools and headed north to Wichita Kansas. In the winter or 2007/08 I went through both of them replacing any and every worn part I could get my hands on. I found a decent enclosed trailer for them then in the spring of 2008 we loaded them up and headed to Little Sahara in Waynoka Oklahoma. Does anyone remember the first time they took a motorcycle ride or the first time they rode a motorcycle,minibike,go-cart... I do. As for the Odyssey I was hooked the very first time I followed TedPilot, Drakman,Adnoh andTobey from the campground to Little Saharas sand dunes.

Here is my Fl350, I got it a few years ago with a broke tranny for $500, It needed a bit of work, I put works shocks on the rear and fox shocks up front, water cooled head, aluminum fuel tank, crow safety harness, I made the side covers and hood, I still have a few things I need to do.

Come on guys were are all the FL350 pics?

I am still new here... and to Oddys.

I picked up my Oddy 2 days ago for $300 and it needs quite a bit of work.

Always wanted one since I was riding three wheelers in highschool (yeah I am old)

She's not much to look at now, but it will be when I am done. ;)

Sorry I don't have any pics of it anymore, they were on my other computer when it died.
It looked very much like yours when I got it, it had flat tires and missing and broke fenders, the main thing I had to do was get a used transmission, since the one in it was trashed.

if you don't mind my asking.... where did you end up finding your new (newer) fenders?

I got one used front fender and one rear off ebay before they were no longer available from Honda and the price for used ones doubled  , I wish I had bought a few sets back then :-)
I repaired the two fenders that came with the Odyssey, they had some big cracks in them, I used JB-WELD to fix the cracks, I sanded down the JB-WELD on the outside part of the fender to make is smooth then used some cheap spray on bedliner instead of paint to cover it all up.
Search on the board, somewere there is a guy that modified some HONDA quad fenders to fit on his FL350, they looked very nice, That is something you might want to do if you cand find original fenders.

I originally raced an FL250 Ody in the ORCA flat track series in Southern California back in the early eighties. After trying to trail ride it for a while I got tired of being beat to death on it so I got back into bikes and quads. After listening to the wife complain because the bikes and quads we have scare her I purchased her an Ody. After remembering how badly the FL250 rode I opted to buy her an FL350r. I rode my 400EX for about another year but after having a couple of crashes where I got lucky and didn't get hurt, I decided to trade of my low hour 2005 (crashed 3 times) 400EX for another Ody. These things are like VW's.......once you start playing with one it's hard to stop doing stuff to them.

I can't leave anything of mine alone and not modify it so I have made the following modifications to mine:

Works Rear Shocks
Pilot Seat
New 4 Point Harness
Comet 102 primary Clutch
DG Pipe
FMF Quiet Core Silencer (Replaced DG Silencer)
Vapor Trail Tech Computer (Speedometer / Tachometer / Water Temp Monitor)
Water Cooled Hillside Honda Head
Yamaha YFZ450 Radiator
Mercedes Benz Auxiliary Water Pump
6" Head Lights
2.5 Gallon Spun aluminum Additional Fuel Tank (Stock Still in Use Also)
UNI 2 Stage Foam FIlter
UNI 1" Foam Inset (6 of them) in Air Box Lid

Hers.........Bone Stock (except for the suspension seat and seat belts)!

I remeber drooling at the FL's in the dealers when I was a kid. Bought mine in 96 as soon as I got a truck! The excuse was so my girlfriend (now wife of 13yrs) could come riding with me, problem was she loved the Ody...fast forward to 2009 and "we" bought an RZR so our daughters could ride with us. Ody's still running strong, 80's Honda's are really great machines. When I bought it in 1996 I was concerened because it was "so old" how would it ever survive our trips, too funny now it's still going on trips with us. Wish they still made them.

I havent posted my first 350 in here yet, so why not.

Went from this
Image

to this(i have fenders for it now) and the oil pan was before i did the vent mod and it was puking all the oil into the recoil starter. Its nothing special but a stock fl350 with boysen reeds, DG pipe, and aluminum wheels. I plan to go through this one again and completely restore it to like new condition when i get my 570 odyssey finished.

you can see my write ups on it and more here http://www.86montecarloss.net/odysseyfl350r.htm

My FL350R, Purchased middle of last year for the grand total of 1800 (Qatari Riyals) that's about $450. its in a bit of a mess, the weather conditions here turns most metals into rust real quick. lots of parts missing but the biggest problem is no parts are available here as i think i have the only one in the country!

Bought her as a project so don't mind spending the time she so desperately needs.

I'm new to the whole Ody scene so will be looking for all the advice i can get but please remember..getting actual parts for this project is going to be near impossible (bodge jobs and alternatives welcome!)

growing up on a farm in the middle of the prairies, we always had something to ride. started off on a honda 50 bike, at 6 years old..we also had a 3 wheeler, a 79 oddy fl250 and plenty of dirt bikes to ride. always loved the oddy and last year when the chance cam to buy a fl350 i jumped on it..had a couple problems with it last year but hopefully this year will be all about riding and not so much wrenching lol

Bought my ody late 2008 after being discharged from a life saving op for (you may want to sit for this) $2000aud.

Then did a bit of work & replaced a few parts that were no longer present.

Had to buy a fuel tank, curved fin head, a part for the handbrake & a cable, Douglas 190 wheels & tyres, roof panel, upper air box, air box & Uni filter, Powerpros exhaust, new comet clutch, belt & rear belt guard, rear skid plate, new lights, straight roll cage, heavy duty tie rods, new 3" 6 point harness & boyesen reeds so far. :-)

Got a complete set of fenders too, new decals (not yet applied) & thanks to the fantastic skills of Speedchaser, I have purchased custom fender brackets, J arm bush kit & front bumper (which still needs painting & mounting.) from him.
