Here is my new project

Its a Briggsbuilt gen 2/3 frame gen 2 front gen 3 rear end
The rear end is missing

i bought the frame from rusty
the reason the rear end is missing is because some one had a quad Engine with a swing arm on it at one time

This is going to be a shifter buggy

Power plant will be a cbr600 @ 100HP

Already been ordering parts for it

info i already know
bolt pattern is 5 on 100 for the hubs
the rear hubs are off of a 1985 chevy cavalier , the input shaft to them is a cv from the car that had the end cut off turned down and tig welded to a type 1 VW cv joint(gonna suck if one breaks)
axles are 19'' 1/4 long
the trans has type 2 cv cups on it and the outer has type 1

I emailed Dan and he finally got back to me
He said he will swap them out for me plus I need a brake for it so I'm ordering that also threw him

so hopefully ill have the parts back in a couple of weeks

Check
Out the photos I sent you last week about my setup. It use CNC brand calipers, they are
Common on a lot of sand fails and off road vehicles. Plus they are designed for heavier cars.

on CNC web site they give rotor thickness and bolt spacing. airheart also gives the same info and sells spacers to widen the 2 piece calipers. 175 series I believe.

Rotor thickness .1875 or 4.72 mm
Rotor size 7"

Caliper mount 90 mm or 3.544" bolt spacing

I have a Wildwood caliper but not too sure if I'm going to use it And the bleeders are snapped off

mount your Engine and tranny together before you try and do the rear suspension

U wanna come up here and make it for me rusty? :-)

I'm trying to find where the original trans mounts were so I can see if I have to change them

Plus I have no mount at all to go off of to place the Engine on.

So some photos will really help

you have a different tranny. they used a rpm tranny but it was configured same as the fl350 trans so you have to first mount the Engine in the car then the tranny then the suspension. worry about getting the Engine in First

HEARD THAT! lol Summer is busy. Even with more daylight, I never seem to find much spare time for much buggy stuff. Hell, I'm taking a vacation day this Friday just to get caught up on a couple home projects and to clean out my barn. Ridiculous.
