I have just purchased a 1985 Fl350 odyssey. I have torn it down as the motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) was non running and cylinder loose. Upon disassembly I found a few cool things, a hot rod in it, wiseco piston and some porting. The cylinder was engraved FTZ once the head was removed and also Trinity III. I think Trinity did the porting as the head had their angled lines all around it. What can anyone tell me about FTZ? I have an aftermarket pipe that came with it as well but has no brand name on it. Silencer exits just off straight out the back and pipe has a swivel joint just before the expansion chamber. Any ideas there? The intake is different than stock too as it has a rubber boot that bolts to the aluminum reed cage assembly with two bolts onto the six bolt reed cage metal piece? Anyone seen this either? Just trying to figure out what is here and the best plan of rebuild. Are the crankshafts rebuildable? All help appreciated! Thanks in advance! I know it was very fast at one time and if Trinity did the porting it seems to be the play/race port!

Please post pictures and where/who you bought it from. Was the previous owner a member here?
The intake setup sounds similar to one that a member here devolped and sold.
Where are you from, where do you ride/drive?
Regards and welcome to the madness, it's a great hobby.

So from what I can tell, the intake is a Moss barger. Or a copy of one as it does not say moss barger on it in the rectangular pads at the bottom. I will get pics and list them. I bought the machine locally and not from or with anything to do with anyone here. I am from the Northern Colorado area, I ride Walden Sand dunes, Red feather and the local Mountain trails in the area as well as Killpecker Dunes in Wy.

I haven't ever seen only a complete crankshaft for sale, haven't just seen parts for a crank for sale either. There is a member on here that would know though. Speedchaser sells lower ends so he's probably the person to reach out to. He also has an eBay store selling completely rebuilt crank cases, and other things as well. He is willing to discount his stuff if you buy through here instead of eBay.

I haven't heard of ftz before, but a quick google search does indicate they are atv Engine modifiers out of Missouri. Looks like you might have found a former raced odyssey, that's cool!!! The people on this site are super knowledgable and eager to help! Congrats on the new toy, good luck on the rebuild, look forward to seeing your progress.
