Yes it is, I will see whats up with that once I get driven apart, I think I will JB weld in the replacements. |

YES it is the same trans, NO I didnt change the bearings they are factory original. |

I used to run a fuel filter on all my trans vent hoses when I used to race GNCC and hare scrambles. It gives you a more time to get out of a water hole before filling your case and keeps all the sand and muck out. There are some aftermarket companies selling these now. They also work on carb overflow tubes. |

My trans bearings (6) and seals (3) came yesterday today was yard work day so hopefully tomorrow I will put my trans back together 
Thanks Service Honda for another parts order getting here ASAP I will find out if they sent the right stuff when I put it back together hehe

Yup Service Honda sent all the right parts and my trans is assembled with all new bearings and seals. I noticed damage to the torque clutch cover, the funnel that channels oil into the input shaft to supply oil, lube, cooling to the bushing on the primary drive gear, it appears when the input shaft bearing was bad (all balls gone) this allowed the shaft to angle enough where the outside of the torque clutch could rub the cover I assume this is when the tail end of the input shaft broke off the tip of the oil funnel.

The oil flow path is the blue arrows the pink arrows is the JB weld repair I did. Oil that is splashed and flung off the torque clutch (normal oil circulation) and runs down the outside of the torque clutch cover runs down and is channeled into the input shaft. Missing the tip broke off the oil funnel might have created a oil starvation problem to the bushings causing a premature failure this is why its so important to study parts closely when doing a CSI.

The oil flows into the right end of the shaft and is distributed out a hole in the shaft where it lubricates the bushings.

The trans has no oil pump like most gear boxes so it relies on the gears to carry the lube throughout the trans to cool and lube its internals, all over the trans you will see places where they provide a funnel affect to direct the oil to vital parts.

More assembly stuff, another hoser orignal.... grease up the inside of the final shaft good, apply a big bead of silicone caulk to the stub shaft then grease the splines on the stub shaft, apply some grease on the trans where the silicone will contact so you can get it apart in the future then tap in the stub shafts, this forms a water tight seal keeping your stub shafts from rusting.

I just placed an order with Hillside Honda and they called back to say that part # 91007-HE0-004 was now discontinued.... Boy I hope not - I guess I'd better see if Service Honda can get it since I see you just got the same part from them..... Hum..... |

Middle finger up to the new mutts at Hillside! Why you inside a Pilot trans? What Pilot you into? Debating on installing that 583 in mine for a test run  but I don't feel like messing with the exhaust again, wonder if Alain still has any 583 pipes left over from the Drakarts hmmm

Normally when I change the oil in the Pilot trans you see a metalic hue in the oil, no particles you can feel but with a bright light you can see them, its almost like someone added pearl to the oil, I assume this hue over the years added wear to the bearings? Good idea stocking up on the bearings I should probably buy another set myself for future use. |

Somewhere in Western Iowa Don't remember the little town's name right now. It only came with what ya see and a stock honda line front bumber... It appears it was in a shed that caught fire... All the plastic melted off of it, he still had the motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) but wanted more than I would consider reasonable for it... I got it mostly for the four good stock rims, drive train, and tranny... It was dirt cheap... |
