"This Engine was built by ATV racing in Florence Oregon."

ATV Racing is in AZ not Oregon.

Not saying I agree or disagree.... But giving dude the benefit of the doubt here.

Do you know this Engine personally? Yes I know it has a stock appearing cylinder and head, but it could have been resleaved to a 500 sleave? I believe it was redskinman that had one done this way. Although I wouldn't run any atv racing built Engine in my machines, it is possible this is a "500" nobody knows for sure without removing the head and measuring the bore

Nitro, that is a good point, I didn't think of that!
No I do not know anything of that Engine. IMHO, I would not trust that the Engine is a 500 without some sort of proof. There are red flags that would steer me clear of purchasing.

Your both correct, great observations, the opening price for a unknown Engine off ebay is already too risky knowing the cost to bring a Engine up to being reliable once again, top end rebuild can easily be $300.00 bottom end rebuild can easily be $700 + on top of the purchase price PLUS SHIPPING.

Flip side is it could be a big bore 500cc with a fresh top end and fresh bottom end who will gamble on the unknown, time will tell.

I have seen too many bad deals off evilbay to be optimistic seems everybody thinks ebay is the place to dump your junk on someone unsuspecting.
