He can list his parts for whatever price he wants, highway robbery or not.
When I "auction" parts I start them below my expected selling price and HOPE to get more, but they will sometimes sell for much less.
When I use fixed price listings I put a price I can live with, sometimes I will lower that price if the part(s) aren't sold in a month or 2, but if a lot of people are watching the item I may significantly raise the price and see what happens, if no bites, I drop the price back down after 30 days and they will usually sell quickly.
There's a LOT of deadbeat bidders on eBay right now, probably economy related, I probably get 10 a month now, that's more than in my previous 8 years on eBay put together! Lots of sellers are trying to recover their losses, by that I mean the extra time wasted waiting on payments, listening to lame excuses, dealing with getting their listing fees refunded, etc.
His price is ridiculous though when you look at the option of buying a used bike radiator and a new fan and the price would still be 1/4 of what he's asking.
Oh, I have dealt with him too. He has bought several items from me and turned around and sold them on eBay for 2-3 times what I sold them for, it's not too uncommon. He does ocassionally list nearly impossible to find NOS performance items as well, like NOS DG performance springs and cams for the stock FL250 clutches, etc.
He's nowhere near as bad as that dipstick ODDATV, he charges RIDICULOUS prices for some items and usually lies about them being DISCONTINUED and RARE.......... He was selling the cam buttons for the driven for something like 12 bux EACH a while back, may still be doing it, label something DISCONTINUED or RARE and people jump all over them........
