Whilst adjusting the front shocks on Pilotman's ATV Racing LT Pilot front suspension I noticed that it appears the valve stem was installed on the wrong side of the rim? The offset is to the outside making the Pilot handle poorly, the leverage also works against just about everything on the whole front suspension, including but not limited to the spindle, wheel bearings, ball joints, tie rods etc. In the pictures look at the distance between the center of the tire and the center of the top A-arm ball joint. I did not bother to measure the offset difference but a offset difference as small as 1" is huge, even turned around the offset is much greater than the stock Honda offset. IMO its a easy fix, remove the tire from the rim, remove the valve stem, patch or plug the hole, you could plug it by installing a valve stem on the inside so only the small rubber part would stick out, then drill a new valve stem hole 180 degrees and on the other side from the old one (for balance) and install the new stem, if you used the metal stems that have the nut and washer you could in the future swap back to the other offset, myself I would cut a small aluminum patch then JB weld it on the inside of the rim to plug the hole (don't want to go back) then drill the new hole, I don't like the all metal stems they just break off they don't flex, seen my buddys get into deep mud and rip them off back in our 4 wheeling truck days, never seen rubber stem torn off not that it cant happen...

On the subject of offset, is there such a thing as a 4+4? I havent seen one and the rim companys don't answer emails. |

IMO the stock offset is the way to go, why fight it, the more the offset the more the feed back through the steering. |
