Post subject:  Pre-ignition Detonation

Quote:
Pre-ignition can frequently be traced to deposits in the combustion chamber or on the piston crown becoming incandescent. Since these deposits do not conduct heat well, very high temperatures can be reached within such accumulations. Spark plug heat ranges can also affect pre-ignition. If the electrodes retain too much heat from previous combustion cycles, they will glow and pre-ignite the fuel.
