Hey "H". long time. been busy. Where did you get the sourse on that one. I hope that's a transfer port and not a exhaust port (Being squared off and all). Probly an old text. Good info on flow tho. I wonder if that's why in 90 the cylinder angle was changed or if they were loosing to many rings on worn cylinders, you now what I mean to much chamfer and the ring travling to far in to the cylinder and snagging and not enough and the ring being pinched. A smooth transition for the ring to get back in the gap is good thing. Any way, have a good holiday.

Thanks "H". those specs look like the 89 specs( port bevel). I was thinking the 90 cylinder was diff. Do ya feel the port belvel in dergrees will enhance the exhaust port flow. To say the 30% will flow bette than 15%. For example when the exhaust port is widened and raised the taper is increased and the flow angle to the out put of the cylinder should be matched to the increase in witdth and height of port.This may increase cylinder stuffing and enhance the combustion charge as well as pull a higher( larger voulme) intake charge to the bottom end. If so and the same is applied to the transfer ports would the diifferent temp of the charges( intake verses exhaust have an effect on bevel angle. Appling that therory may help explain why my new DCP motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) has an increase top end pull yet suffer a little in the mid. Thanks

Right on the port tunnel after the port opening should not be tapered like you see on all the ATV Racing engines, well all those that crossed my bench were found to be this way :-) the port tunnel should be enlarged and the 'Honda humps' removed I also put the exhaust manifold in the lathe and machine the inside larger in diameter where others leaves it all choked down stock ATV Racing again for example does not touch the manifold, OR the inside of the 'High Performance' pipes they sell :shock: lost count of how many of the ATVR cylinders and heads I have corrected the problems they don't even know about yet, here is one example on 3 heads that were sent to me viewtopic.php?f=25&t=3495
