Bubba66 stopped by and dropped off his 350 basket case Engine, he can give the details on this basket case project I don't know all the little details.

The Engine looks to be in pretty good shape.

So far other than the missing head nuts everything seems to be here to build up a complete Engine I will find out for sure as I assemble.

The cylinder looks good some minor scuffing from dirt but its not bad the as found piston to cylinder clearance was .004 just a little on the tight side for a 350 Odyssey Engine.

The piston looks like it only has a few hours use on it other than the scuffing from the dirt no real wear, it will be reused, their was some slight scuffing on the bridge the bridge was not properly relieved in the cylinder this will be corrected before I assemble.

I will polish up that scuffed up area, relieve the bridge then finish hone the cylinder to a clearance of .0045.

One side on the exhaust side of the piston also had a scuff mark it will be polished too.

Parts are on order more once I get the parts, lots of gasket scraping and cleaning to do.

I will mod the cases for better bearing lube like I do on the Pilot cases, gotta figure out what balancer case mod we will do, going to open up the starter to see what its condition is you can see some oil on the outside hopefully the inside is not full of oil.

I find that pic of the bridge wear marks, over the cooling/lube piston holes interesting.
It's tapered, not even? The piston must be rocking forward/backward on it's stroke?
Or is it the ring that keeps it away from the bridge?

Look at the bridge on the cylinder pictures I gave the cylinder a light hone with my ridged hone, you can see the rub marks and see the cross hatch from the hone on the bridge, they never did anything to the bridge so when up to temp and the bridge expands into the cylinder it put the rub marks you see on the piston.

This is a good example why the bridge needs relieved as well as the holes drilled.

Stix has some head nuts for me. He's gonna send them as soon as he can dig himself out. Thanks Marc. Everything else is on it's way for the motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )). Took some pics with the iPhone but can't figure out how to attach them from here. Have to put them on the laptop after I get done plowing.

I won't get out plowing for a while. Got a sick kindergartner and Momma is at work. The big snow is just starting now. You should be getting it before me. Talked to Lonerider this morning and he's up by Ohare. That would suck.

They moved his office up there. It would probably be in his best interest to knock off early today.
