Been working on a DC brake idea to eliminate the horrendous grinding into F and R.I've always wanted to do it since my Ody days but never got into it.Over the last 3 days I've been fabing up a BMX brake caliper lever to the fender bracket trying to utilise everything all ready on the Revolt for fixings so no drilling or welding because it's just to see if the concept works first. On my first test there was too much flex out which resulted in not enough side pad to DC pressure. So added a rear brace which solved that.
Now it works perfectly with Zero grinding and noise damage.
The good thing is that when the gear sets are not in sync mesh, then just releasing the hand brake lever a tad allows the DC to turn an inch to allow perfectly quiet engagement.
In my pics it's all prototype bits and pieces found in my blokeshed.looks rough but it works perfectly and only spent $25 on a pair of new brake caliper levers from the boke shop.
I highly recommend to do this to the Odys to $ave them damage and $.

Slick!

I can see mounting one brake shoe out in space being a little challenging.
